The future of recruiting : How AI is impacting recruiters' Work (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Background: Organizations only have the potential of the people working within the organization, making the recruitment process one of the most important processes in an organization. At the same time, the use of AI-tools has changed the way organizations recruit and digitalization has made it more difficult for organizations to retain and find new talent due to the competition in the job market. AI has had a significant impact on recruitment which has led to the recruitment process constantly needing to evolve and adapt to the development. The implementation of AI can therefore change the tasks for recruiters and create new opportunities and challenges in the recruitment process.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to increase understanding of the impact that the implementation of AI has had and will have on recruiters’ tasks, as well as to gain deeper insight into the opportunities and challenges that AI may create in the work of recruiting new talent.

Method: A qualitative method was used to conduct the study. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews with 12 respondents and all of whom work as recruiters.

Conclusion: The study's results show that there are several opportunities and challenges resulting from the implementation of AI that are connected to recruiters' tasks in the recruitment process. One opportunity that emerged is that recruiters can spend more time on value creating work while a challenge is that the recruitment process becomes impersonal.
