Abstract [en]

Virtual reality has evolved significantly in recent decades, encompassing the gaming industry significantly. This has driven the development of more authentic experiences using a range of techniques to improve the overall quality of virtual reality video games. Technologies such as haptic vests and gloves have been able to occupy this niche and enhance these experiences with a novel approach. This outlook is the investigation of body manipulation within a virtual setting. This research concentrates on reimagining the phantasmagoria performance art of old and developing a similar experience with modern virtual and haptic technologies, followed by an analysis of the competition and collaboration between visual and haptic stimuli within virtual reality games. The study did not yield conclusive evidence regarding whether the stimuli compete or collaborate. The inconclusive result opened up possibilities for future research to better understand this study's complexities and apply different methods to similar research.
