From promise to experience : A qualitative study on how Employee Experience generates value in the Employee Experience (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to study how HR and managers communicate the Employee Value Proposition and whether the outcome of the Employee Experience is consistent with the value proposition. The study is based on a qualitative methodological approach and is based on nine semi-structured interviews that were conducted at a public school. The study is also based on two subject-related theories: Employee Value Proposition, Employee Experience and a communications modell. The results show that HR and managers primarily offer values linked to the external motivational factors, while employees describe the internal factors as a source of value in the work. The results also show that noise arises between the Employee Value Proposition and Employee Experience. The conclusion of the study is that there is some correspondence between the HR and manager's communicated value proposition and the employees' perception of value through the employees' needs, such as trust-based leadership and development opportunities. There are also differences in the experience of value creation due to a lack of presence and communication from HR and managers, which leads to the Employee Value Proposition not meeting the values that employees expect from their Employee Experience.
