Motivation and career at McDonald's (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine and identify the motivational factors that influence employees' choices in building a career at a fast-food restaurant, specifically McDonald's. The analysis is based on Herzberg's two-factor theory, where both hygiene factors and motivational factors affect job satisfaction. The data collection method consisted of semi-structured interviews with respondents holding various positions and either currently employed or having ended their employment at the time of the study. The results indicate that responsibility and recognition of achievement are the primary factors influencing employees to stay and grow within their roles at a fast-food restaurant. Although not all motivational and hygiene factors are equally emphasized in the study, it provides an understanding of the relationship between motivational factors and hygiene factors consistent with Herzberg's two-factor theory.
