Troubleshooting and optimization of conveyors (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This thesis was carried out in collaboration with Metsä Tissue AB. The purpose of the work has been to troubleshoot the existing problems that occur in their conveyor system and then implement one or more solutions depending on the severity of the problem. Three methods have been used as support: Inductive, DECSAR and DMAIC. The inductive method has been used at the beginning of the work to gain an understanding of the problem. DECSAR has been used to structure the troubleshooting process and DMAIC has been used as support for implementing the solution and checking and verifying. To implement the solutions, programming has been carried out in Siemens Simatic Manager (Step 7) according to the PLC standard IEC 61131–3.

The result was a more stable and robust production, less wear and tear and lower energy consumption on the conveyor system.
