Bakgrund: I Sverige har ca 1-2% av befolkningen autism som är en neuropsykiatrisk funktionsnedsättning. Individer med autism kan ha bristande kommunikation verbalt och kan vara i behov av digitala hjälpmedel för att ha en god kommunikation med vården.

Syfte: Syftet är att beskriva hur individer med autism upplever digital kommunikation med sjukvården.

Metod: En litteraturöversikt där tio kvalitativa artiklar inkluderades som svarade på studiens syfte.

Resultat: Det framkom två huvudtema och fem underteman. Det visade att kvaliteten på samtalet förändras och att miljön är viktig för hur individer med autism upplever digital kommunikation.

Konklusion: Att förstå individer med autism och hur de upplever digital kommunikation med sjukvården är viktigt för sjuksköterskans roll. Goda kunskaper om digital kommunikation med individer med autism krävs för att ge en bekräftande vård.

Background: Approximately 1-2% of Sweden's population has autism spectrum disorder, which is a neuropsychiatric disability. Individuals with autism spectrum disorder may have a lack of verbal communication and may need digital aids to have good communication with healthcare providers.

Aim: The aim was to describe how individuals with autism spectrum disorder experience digital communication with healthcare providers.

Method: A literature review where ten qualitative articles were included that answered the purpose of this study.

Findings: Two main themes and five subthemes were found. These showed that the quality of the conversation changed and that the environment is important to how individuals with autism spectrum disorder experience digital communication.

Conclusion: To understand individuals with autism spectrum disorder and how they experience digital communication with healthcare providers, it’s of great value to the nurse’s role. Adequate knowledge about communication with individuals with autism spectrum disorder is required to provide affirmative care.
