    Abstract [en]

    Action research is widespread in many of the background disciplines that underpin the e-Government field andis beginning to take root as a legitimate e-Government research method. Canonical Action Research (CAR)is the most widely used form of action research; however it relies on premises that can be problematic in thee-Government context. This article details some of those underlying assumptions, and shows the difficulties that result when applied to a relatively typical e-Government case study: the implementation of an advanced email system in Danish public administration. The empirical experience calls many of the standard premises into question, and these are categorised. The authors summarize the resulting experience as nine challenges for action researchers working in the e-Government field, and investigate some possible responses.

    Detta arbete fokuserar på de normer som förekommer gällande mäns och kvinnors klädsel i spel. Hur upplevs normöverskridande klädsel, och hur styr normer upplevelsen av klädseln baserad på karaktärens könstillhörighet? Resultaten av undersökningen visade att könsöverskridande klädsel upplevdes olika beroende på om den bars av en manlig eller kvinnlig karaktär. När den kvinnliga karaktären bar könsöverskridande klädsel identifierade de allra flesta att den var just könsöverskridande. Trots detta var det ingen som upplevde att klädslarna inte passade på kvinnan. När det däremot gällde de könsöverskridande klädslarna för den manliga karaktären var det få som ansåg att klädseln passade på mannen, den kunde även ses som humoristisk.

    Abstract [sv]

    Vi har undersökt hur globaliseringen påverkar aktiemarknaden. Ett sätt att ta reda globaliseringens effekter kan vara att jämföra avkastning och risk för olika marknader. För att kunna göra en jämförelse har vi skapat aktieportföljer baserade på olika marknader och jämfört dessa med ett index som motsvarar världen.

    Genom några enkla urvalskriterier har vi skapat fyra portföljer med börsnoterade aktier från Norden, Europa, Japan och USA.

    Portföljerna har vi jämfört med ett världsindex för att se vilka samband som finns och hur de utvecklar sig över tiden. Sambanden vi fann var att korrelationen mellan några av portföljerna och världsindexet är relativt starka samt ökar med tiden. Att korrelationen ökar kan tyda på att företagen blir mer internationellt verksamma med tiden. Det verkar som ländernas ekonomier knyts samman och att deras konjunkturer blir mer och mer lika.

    Ur ett nordiskt perspektiv kan en investerare få en bra riskspridning internationellt genom att bara vända sig mot den nordiska marknaden. De företag som vi har använt i den nordiska portföljen är multinationella storföretag som har verksamhet i flera länder utanför Norden. Investerare i Europa och USA får också bra riskspridning internationellt, och även här ökar sambandet med tiden.

    Av de undersökta marknaderna är Japan den enda marknaden som avviker. I ett japanskt perspektiv har det varit fördelaktigt att investera internationellt under den undersökta perioden.

    Abstract [en]

    The background to this study is the increasing sick leave in Sweden due to mental illness. The problem derives from issues related to work environment and the fact that work-related stress causes more than 50 per cent of all sick leave in the European Union. Stress is not only an individual health problem but also an economic burden to society. Increased workload and stress haves been observed to be main reasons behind sick leave in the health- and social sector.

    This study examines nurses’ experiences in old age care. The focus is on demand, control and support in relation to psychosocial work environment and stress. The analysis draws on the model made by Karasek and Theorell (1990). The examination was performed on a municipality in Västra Götaland. A quantitative method based on questionnaires has been used to collect data.

    The empirical result shows that nurses experience high demands, low control and high social support. The nurses experience high strain which is mentally exhausting for the individual who cannot encounter the high demands because of the low acting space.

    The finding of high social support however separates from several previous studies and has led to the conclusion that social support cannot be analyzed detached from the other factors if the aim is to understand the full context of a work situation. Previous research has proved that social support works as an insurance against work-related stress; this study presents that work-related stress can arise regardless of nurses’ experience of high social support. Therefore the study demonstrates that a combination of demand, control and support is essential to the understanding of an organization’s psychosocial work environment.

    Konkurrensen om kunderna blir allt hårdare och numera konsumerar vi inte bara det som är nödvändigt utan även ur ett nöjesperspektiv, shopping har blivit en fritidsysselsättning och ett sätt att umgås för många. När det gäller nöjesshopping så blir själva upplevelsen och intrycken i butiken en avgörande faktor för om kunden väljer att handla i butiken, butikskommunikationen är där med ett viktigt konkurrensmedel vid kampen om kunderna.

    Uppsatsens undersökning grundar sig på att vi har besökt fyra stycken butiker som ingår i en specifik franchisekedja inom heminredningsbranschen. Vi ville med detta granska hur kedjan jobbar med att ge samma intryck till kunderna oavsett läge och placering samt hur kunderna uppfattar butiksatmosfären och därifrån komma fram till vad som kan förbättras. Vi intervjuade ett antal besökande kunder från vardera butik för att få fram hur de uppfattade butiksmiljön. Vi har även intervjuat butikernas respektive butikschefer samt kedjans butikskommunikations ansvarige, detta för att få fram hur de tänker och arbetar kring ämnet butikskommunikation.

    Vår uppsats bygger både på kvalitativ samt kvantitativ undersökningsmetod, detta anser vi har varit en fördel eftersom detta säkrade upp att vi fick med alla delar. De centrala slutsatser vi har dragit efter vår undersökning är att alla delar i butikens atmosfär är viktiga element att arbeta med. Kunderna påverkas av de intryck den får i butiken och svarar upp emot dem på ett eller annat sätt. Som butik är det viktigt att man förstår vilken betydelse dessa delar har. Vi kunde av vår undersökning se att de butikerna som upplevdes som störst var de som fick bäst genomsnittsvärden på många frågor som vi ställde till kunderna. De största skillnaderna kunde vi se när det gällde hur bekväma kunderna kände sig i butikerna samt hur inspirerande de ansåg att butikerna var. Av detta kunde vi dra slutsatserna att de butiker som hade störst butiksyta också hade mer rum att arbeta med utställningsmiljöer, specialexponeringar och andra inspirerande åtgärder som hjälper till att skapa den ultimata butiksatmosfären. De butikerna som kunderna upplevde som varmast och mest välkomnande var de butikerna som hade centrumläge med gamla gedigna butikslokaler. Något som stämmer väl in på det koncept som kedjan vill sända ut till kunden.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study was to investigate how some teachers in Mathematics and Science subjects use IT in their lessons for grades 7-9, their motives for using IT as a teaching tool, and if there was anything that they feel restricted or otherwise affected their use of IT.

    Interviews were conducted with four teachers from two different schools. How often the teachers used IT in their teaching varied depending on the subject. IT was most commonly used in the science subjects to introduce a new area of study, searching for information on the Internet, to illustrate something with the help of a film or filming their own sequence of events. The IT-information was also discussed and examined with the pupils, and a memorandum of the lesson could also be created. The reasons the teachers' used IT was to facilitate the pupils' learning as a way to diversify their teaching methods, to aid pupils with reading difficulties and to save the notes from the lesson for later use. Other reasons were to provide information through their homepage, to show other possibilities and pedagogical ways of using a computer and to teach the pupils to become critical of Internet sources. The greatest influences on the teachers' use of IT were, according to them, how much time they had and whether the IT equipment was in working order. The teachers also indicated that their own ability in IT, and how intrigued the students became in IT, played a role.

    Abstract [en]

    In this study 97 companies from Nasdaq Stockholm´s Large Cap has been examined for the financial years 2016 and 2017. The purpose of the study has been to explain the correlation between goodwill impairment loss and market value for companies on the Swedish market and to analyze and compare the study´s results with previous research that has been found on foreign markets. This means that the value relevance of goodwill impairments has been examined to see if the companies´ market value is affected when goodwill impairment loss is made and if the information affects the investors decision. A model previously used by other researchers has been applied to examine this. The model includes the variables market value, book value, pre-tax profit, carrying value of goodwill and goodwill impairment loss; and information about these has been collected from the companies’ annual reports. The study was done using a multiple regression analysis. The positive correlation between market value and the variables of book value and pre-tax profit means that we could assume that the stock market is value relevant. In order to investigate the value relevance of goodwill impairment loss it was required that reported goodwill was a value relevant variable, which the result showed. A positive correlation could be demonstrated between impairment of goodwill and market capitalization, which indicates that it is not value relevant. This indicates that these impairment losses do not give investors any reliable information in investment decisions.

    Abstract [en]

    This paper presents a study where nine Swedish citizens were interviewed about their concerns and expectations, from a customer perspective, in relation to a 10 day disruption in the payment system. The purpose of the study was to understand the customer’s perspective in order to provide input to the development of a simulation environment. This simulation environment aims at allowing different stakeholders to experience how a disruption in the payment system affects the local community and thereby create understanding of how resilience is built and affected. The research questions were: What do customers expect to get access to? When? What are customers prepared for? How does this differ among different customer groups? The results indicate some understanding of how such a crisis affects the local community and what the informants expects to happen. The respondents represented a diversity of socio-economic backgrounds from rural and urban parts of the municipality.

    Critical infrastructures for fuel, food, transport and the payment system become inceasingly entangled. Disruptions in the payment system can quickly lead to cascading effects and even the responses of actors in the various sectors are interrelated, which can cause escalation if the collaborative responses are not well-aligned. Our contribution to the track of Human Factors and simulation discusses how gaming-simulation can be used as a training environment where groups of practitioners can learn to develop in-depth understanding of system behaviour (i.e. cascading effects of disruptions) and learn how to develop collaborative resilience across many different critical infrastructures. More specifically, our paper focuses on the development and application of a mixed-methods assessment approach in the simulation-game. The assessment method captures qualitative as well as quantitative aspects of resilience and team-work. It can be used to assess the value of our simulation-game and to increase insight in what collective resilience actually implies.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: Sickness absence have long been a central and political societal problem in Sweden. One factor that has caused employee’s ill health is job strain and psychic stress which may be influenced by leadership. There are different leadership styles that managers can apply which have different effects on employee health. These are transformative and transactional leadership styles as well as democratic or relationship-oriented leadership styles and authoritarian or task-oriented leadership styles. Advantageously for employee health is leaders who apply Kaizen as a working method. Kaizen can be described as continuous improvements. Thus, leadership is significant for employees' psychosocial health in the workplace.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the difference between managers' leadership in departments with high and low sick leave. To answer the purpose, the study is based on theories of leadership styles and the Kaizen method.

    Method: To answer the purpose of this study, both managers and employees have given their perspective to the problem. They have participated in the survey through a qualitative and quantitative study with an iterative interaction between deductive and inductive approach. The study has been carried out using a comparative method by studying two comparable departments with reported high or low sickness absence.  

    Conclusion: The result of this study is that the leadership differs according to the leadership styles applied and to what extent managers work according to Kaizen. Managers with different leadership also have employees with different sickness absence. Thus, manager’s leadership can be important for employees' sickness absence.

    Abstract [en]

    A workplace that is not considered sufficiently motivating for an individual can lead to an employee voluntary choosing to leave a company, resulting in high unpredictable employee turnover costs and inconvenience for the operation. Therefore, Employee retention is considered to be of great importance. Motivation in work may also be associated with the experience of satisfaction that creates positive working attitudes, this term can be seen to be integrated with the work of retaining employees. However, in order to maintain motivation in work, it is important that managers understands how generation differences can affect the needs of individuals in the workplace. Because young employees, so-called generation Y, are individuals who are more likely to leave a company than previous generations this study has a specific focus on the healthcare industry, which has shown a high number of young employees. The aim of this study was to create an understanding of how managers can work to motivate their employees, belonging to generation Y, in order to keep them in a company within the healthcare industry.

    The study takes a starting point in the generation theory of Mannheim (1927) and motivational theories of Maslow (1943) and Vroom (1964), which have worked out as a scientific support in the search for the answer to the study’s problem formulation and questionnaire. In order to find the answer of the founded question a qualitative researching method has been used, with a complementary descriptive element in form of a ranking method. The collection of the empirical data was conducted using a case study against two different healthcare companies and a triangulation method. In total, 13 qualitative interviews were conducted with managers and employees, as well as a qualitative text analysis based on the case materials and policy documents, which together formed a triangulation method.

    The result of this study present a difference between what managers believe motivates generation Y and what they are actually motivated by in practice. The motivational factors that was shown distinctive and important for employees belonging to generation Y to stay within the healthcare industry were Personal development, Cohesion and community and Safe employment conditions. However, it should be noted that this result was a generalization of the collected empirical data and does not constitute a presentation of what these employees individually are motivated by. Therefore, it is also considered essential that managers are working to identify the individual’s need of motivation at the workplace.

    The oil industry is one of the most controversial industries because it is destroying both immediate environments and large ecosystems. At the same time it is also one of the key industries for the world economy. The companies use sustainability reports to show stakeholders what they are doing to help the environment and society. The African continent is very rich in the natural resource of oil. Many of the oil-exporting countries have been affected by the “resource curse” which means that the countries have not managed to use this resource to develop communities and a better standard of living. For a long time multinational oil companies have made great gains in Africa. Companies must compensate the population for the extraction and the damage done to the environment and communities.

    The purpose of this paper is to see what differences and similarities there are in the multinational oil companies’ sustainability reporting in Africa. In order to answer this purpose, the following research questions were asked: what questions do multinational oil companies in Africa focus on? What differences can we identify? And what similarities can we identify?

    Using qualitative data analysis we have been able to answer the purpose. This approach has helped us to see what the multinational oil companies focus on in its sustainability reporting. This gives us an understanding of what is important for stakeholders on the continent. In the theoretical framework have theories about CSR been used. Stakeholder Theory has been lifted in to see the interaction between companies and their stakeholders. Legitimacy theory is used to show which indicators companies focus on to create legitimacy.

    In the empirical part the study's results are presented by using charts to make it easier to see the differences and similarities that exist among the nine companies that were included in the study. The results were then analysed in order to reach a conclusion. In our study, we concluded that the companies where much involved in local communities. Similarities were seen in investment in infrastructure and jobs to the local population is a high priority among African communities. Differences were seen mainly in the category of human rights, several companies chose not to inform about this. The indicator communication with indigenous people was rare, only 3 companies did this and it was with the Nigerian indigenous people.

    En god arbetsmiljö kan anses vara nyckeln till en välfungerande verksamhet. Arbetsmiljö som begrepp är dock oerhört komplext där många olika problemaspekter samverkar och påverkar arbetsplatsens miljö. Vissa arbetsmiljörelaterade problem kan härröras till egenskaper som inte tillåter individen att utnyttja sina kognitiva förmågor och benämns därmed som kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem. Andra faktorer som tekniska arbetsverktyg som skall vara de anställda behjälpliga, kan i de fall de brister, också påverka och störa tankeprocesserna hos individen. Den här rapportens syfte är att utveckla en förståelse om hur komplexa arbetsmiljöer samt interaktion med teknik kan skapa en stress som i förlängningen kan leda till kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem och teknikstress. En kvalitativ fallstudie utfördes för att få en holistisk överblick över arbetsflödet. Studien genomfördes på en avdelning på ett äldreboende med hjälp av datainsamlingsteknikerna observation och intervju. Resultatet tyder på att kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem och teknikstress är nära sammanlänkande och förutom tidigare identifierade kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem, framträdde även en ny dimension.

    Alla barn har en rättighet att känna sig trygga i skolan och inte bli utsatta för kränkande behandling eller mobbning. Mobbning är ett problem som måste uppmärksammas alltmer eftersom det inte alltid tas på allvar trots att varje skola har någon form av antimobbningsplan. Mobbning kan uttryckas i form av fysisk, psykosocial och verbal mobbning. Vårt syfte med undersökningen är att lyfta fram barns uppfattning om mobbning. Då lyder vår problemformulering som följer: Hur uppfattas mobbning av barn i årskurs fem på sex olika skolor? Vårt intresse ligger i att utföra vår undersökning i årskurs fem på sex olika skolor som aktivt arbetar med olika program mot mobbning. Undersökningen är inte avsedd som en jämförande studie. Vår metod är kvalitativ i form av en helt anonym enkätundersökning med öppna frågor då vi anser att ämnet är alltför känsligt för att använda vid intervjuer. Svaren vi får är inte ämnade att föra statistik utan syftet är att analysera och tolka barnens svar för att skapa en förståelse av deras uppfattning. Vi har valt att i analysen av enkätsvaren använda oss av symbolisk interaktionism, social identitetsteori, rollteori och aggression som gruppfenomen.

    Abstract [en]

    The teacher today is offered a great choice of teaching material that can contribute to variation in teaching. The choice of teaching material depends on various elements such as: student group, their performance, interest, motivation, time, and economic means of the school. Our study presents one teacher and her five students´ experiences of their English teaching and their view on teaching material. Qualitative research method based upon interviews with one teacher and her five students was used in the study. Our aim is to illustrate the five students´ and one teacher´s experience of the English teaching in the 9 and evaluation of teaching material.

    The result of the study shows that students strive for more spoken English during their lessons but it seems that teaching materials do not provide for it. In spite of that students have a positive attitude towards the teaching materials used for their English studies and they are aware of advantages with proficiency in this subject. The importance of the English language for global communication points out. The students emphasise the importance of IKT as a teaching material for their education but they argue that its use is limited. The teacher emphasizes the importance of various elements and their influence on choice, planning and structure of the English teaching. These elements are: students´ different needs, their ability to take responsibility, their maturity, economic means and time. Well structured way of English teaching is appreciated by both teacher and the students since it clarifies teaching in the whole class. Apart from that well-structured teaching based upon the textbook it simplifies for the teacher to follow the curriculum. Concerning students´ participation in choice, use and evaluation of the teaching materials the study shows that their participation was little. Students considered that the teacher with her qualifications and expertise is the one who should decide about teaching and that in school there is already a great deal of demand on them.

    Abstract [en]

    The background to this study is an interest for teacher’s thoughts about choices and teachingmethods and motives for these choices. A question is about the meaning of professional experience and the importance of choices in teachingmethods according to the teachers. The purpose of the study is thru a qualitative study examine teacher’s thoughts and statements about choices of teachingmethods to shed a light on different teachingmethods in early years in school. The teachingmethods that are highlighted are individual work, groupwork and wholeclassteaching. The method in this study is qualitative and based on interviews. The result that can be drawn of the study is that teachers mean that teachingmethods are chosen by ruling factors as studentgroups, contents in teaching and curriculum. A motive that emerged was that the teachers in the study meant that teachingmethods where structure and obvious frames in teaching where used. The conclusion is that teachers with long work experience matters for the choices of teaching methods. The teachers that have been working for a long time mean that they have more experience and more methods to choose from. A discussion about the effect of the increasing use of individualwork is that the school is fostering individualists that are going to a work in an environment where group and team work is prominent. The study establishes that the choice of teaching methods not always can be chosen by visions. The choice has a start from the composition of the group of students, size of the group and the content of teaching.

    Denna undersökning har fokuserat på kvinnliga spelare och deras uppfattning och val av kvinnliga spelkaraktärer då representationen av kvinnliga karaktärer i spel är mindre varierad än den av manliga. Målet med undersökningen var att undersöka vilken av de fyra karaktärerna i undersökningen de valde baserat på utseende, och spelklass, samt ifall de kände sig representerade av någon av karaktärerna och hur de motiverade sina val. Detta för att undersöka vad av utseende och spelklass som väger tyngst hos kvinnliga spelare och, ifall utseende väger tyngre; vilka designval de anser mest viktiga hos karaktären. Resultaten av undersökningen tyder på att spelklass är viktigare vid val av karaktär men att det även finns en efterfrågan gällande en bredare representation av kvinnliga spelkaraktärer.

    Problem: Det sägs att medarbetarna hör till företagets viktigaste tillgångar och i vår bakgrund kan man läs om problematiken kring att rekrytera nya medarbetare, detta ledde oss till vår problemformulering. Problemformulering: Hur fungerar rekryteringsprocessen inom detaljhandeln och vad tittar rekryterarna på, vid urval bland kandidater till en tjänst?

    Syfte: Syftet med denna rapport är att få en inblick i rekryteringsprocessen inom detaljhandeln för att vi som framtida butikschefer bör ha kunskapen kring detta ämne. Viss önskan finns också om att få kunskaper och information om rekryterarnas tankebanor i processen för vårt framtida sökande av arbete.

    Metod: Vår rapport undersöker hur rekryterare går till väga för att gallra bland kandidaterna till en aktuell tjänst inom detaljhandeln. För att genomföra undersökningen valde vi att göra fyra stycken halvöppna intervjuer i fyra olika detaljhandelskedjor. Vid genomförandet användes hjälpmaterial i form av inspelningsanordning samt gammal hederlig penna och papper.

    Slutsats: Svaren vi fick under våra intervjuer visade att rekryteringsprocessen i stort sett ser likadan ut i alla de företag som vi besökt. Det var bara detaljer i processen som skiljde sig mellan företagen. Det visade sig också att rekryteringsprocessen som helhet inte skiljer sig nämnvärt mellan teori och empiri. Våra huvudsakliga slutsatser är att rekryterarna tittar på CV, kandidatens arbetslivserfarenhet, utseende och familjesituation vid urval till en tjänst.

    Summary: The overall aim of the study was to examine what it means for parents to formally have the right to influence in preschool. The study had three questions: What do parents want to have influence of in preschool? How much would the parents have the influence in preschool? and In what way would the parents have the influence in preschool?As a data collection method both a quantitative method and a qualitative method were used in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were sent to 126 parents of which 52 participated, nine interviews were conducted one of which was written implemented by email. The study is inspired by the phenomenographic research approach because I wanted to find out parents' attitudes of the influence as a phenomenon.The results showed that the parents’ knowledge of what parental influence in preschool means is inadequate. It also showed that the preschool teachers do not have sufficient knowledge about what parental influence formally means which makes it difficult to convey to the parents’ about their right to influence. The conclusion of the study is that parental influence is a collective work that should be implemented in interaction between parents, school teachers and school authorities.

    På senare tid har estetiken blivit en allt viktigare faktor när butikskedjor ska förmedla sinaerbjudanden till konsumenten, kedjan måste representeras på ett bra sätt. Här har personalensroll fått allt större utrymme och betydelse för att kunden ska få en positiv helhetsupplevelseav butiken. Personalen ska representera kedjan och vad denna står för på ett, för kunden,fördelaktigt sätt. Personalens framtoning har därmed hamnat mer och mer i fokus undersenare tid. Kraven på sökandes framtoning från arbetsgivare vid anställningar ökar och harblivit mer utförliga och omfattande, och hemelektronikbranschen är inget undantag. Inombranschen finns krav på att säljaren ska framstå som professionell, kompetent och trovärdig,men samtidigt sympatisk.Undersökningen i uppsatsen bygger på att vi har genomfört intervjuer med tre olika kedjorshuvudkontor inom hemelektronikbranschen där vi ville få reda på deras synsätt på hur derassäljare genom sin framtoning kan framstå som professionella, kompetenta, trovärdiga ochsympatiska. Då det är kundens perspektiv på frågan som vi är ute efter genomfördes vidarefokusgruppsintervjuer med konsumenter av varierande ålder, kön och bakgrund på sammatema.Uppsatsens syfte är att beskriva hur personalens framtoning kan se ut och hur den kanpåverka kundens helhetsupplevelse av, och förtroende för, personalen i enhemelektronikkedja. Vi har utgått ifrån en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod då vi är intresseradeav att gå på djupet och få mer nyanserad och detaljerad data.Resultatet av vår undersökning visar på att personalens framtoning är viktig för att kunden skakänna förtroende för, och få en positiv helhetsupplevelse av, personalen i enhemelektronikkedja. Vidare spelar det inte så stor roll hur personalen ser ut så länge derasframtoning bildar en sammanhängande positiv helhet. Så länge alla delar stämmer överenskan de se ut i stort sett hur som helst. Ett annat resultat av vår undersökning visar på attkunden inte föredrar en proper och strikt klädsel hos personalen utan istället efterfrågar enprofilklädsel av mer ledig sort. Intressant att nämna är att de kedjor vi har varit i kontakt medinte är medvetna om vad deras kunder efterfrågar, i någon större utsträckning, rörandepersonalens profilklädsel, då de bara har gjort antaganden utan egna undersökningar att luta sig emot.

    I detta examensarbete skapades illustrationer och modeller i digital 3D-grafik, föreställande den svenske skalden Carl Michael Bellman (1740 - 1795). Förebild för arbetet var en 2D-bild i detta fall Per Krafft d.ä:s (1724 - 1793) målning av Bellman från 1779. Arbetet utfördes med föresatsen att åstadkomma en så realistisk återgivning av en verklig karaktär som var rimligt tidsmässigt. Den modellerade karaktären poserades och renderades i flera bilder. Den praktiska delen av arbetet resulterade alltså i en remediering av en målning till digital 3D-grafik. Remedieringarna av karaktären Bellman utformades för att användas i en undersökning som syftade till att studera följande: Vilken typ av komplikationer skulle remediering av kulturarv kunna innebära? Om det finns komplikationer, är dessa i så fall olika beroende på syftet med den realistiska gestaltningen, exempelvis om den utförs i undervisnings- eller underhållningssammanhang? Studien utvärderades via en kvalitativ undersökning, med frågor till tre informanter vilka arbetar som museipedagog (konst- och kulturhistoriker), antikvarie (arkeolog) samt författare/journalist (medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap). Undersökningsresultatet redovisas i en diskuterande text där även en diskussion förs om framtida arbete.

    Abstract [en]

    Our qualitative study is aimed at teachers´ intentions with the homework and their attitude to it. We wanted to create a picture of what attitude we could adopt to homework in our future professional role as teachers. To achieve the objective of the study, we interviewed four teachers in the elementary school. Based on the material the interwiews gave we came up with four categories around teachers´attitude to homework: Homework by tradition and routine, Teachers´views on homework given to the pupils, Homework as a timesaver and a timecost and Parents as a partner and a help with homework. The result shows that for teachers is homework important to maintain a good and close relationship with parents and that parents should be allowed to see their children´s achievements and what they are working with in the school. Another intention, for teachers, with homework is that pupils need skills in order to take in knowledge. Homework is a natural part of school for most teachers, but homework is not a major topic of discussion either in teams or schools in general.

    Abstract [en]

    Women in general seem to have a complicated relationship with their bodies and their body image. A small percent of the female population develop a serious pathological eating pattern which is characterized by a disturbed image of body size and shape. This disturbance has been investigated by many researchers and the quest of finding the underlying neural correlates has progressed enormously during the last decade. The relationship between disturbed eating patterns and body image distortions is highly complicated. The purpose of this review article is to give an overview of current research literature and scientific results. The aim is to find a framework for the phenomenon of body image distortions among both healthy and non-healthy women. Differences between genders and how food intake affects body image will also be addressed. The focus lies on behavioral traits and the underlying neural correlates, with focus on both the perceptual and the cognitive-affective component.

    Certifications in Higher Education - Friend or Foe?2014Conference paper (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

    The aim of this study is to investigate the uncritical approach among teachers and students of how certifications are used and applied within higher education. This paper offers a clearer image of how to use certification in a learning environment that support student learning and further developing the academia as a learning organisation.  In the last decade universities worldwide has started to adopt certifications offered by multinational corporations, such as Cisco and Microsoft. For example, Cisco’s curriculum is taught in over 10.000 academies such as universities to more than 1.000.000 students currently, which reveals the huge influences those certifications have for the organisation of courses and examination of academic skills.  Academy and industry needs to collaborate to offer students relevant tools and knowledge, but the lack of uncritical views based on scientific values and proven experience challenges teachers to explicit what knowledge have to be taught within academia to reach further academic goals.  The methods used are initially a literature study to identify positive aspects and challenges with integrated certifications. Based on these results, we have performed interviews with students, teachers and certified instructors with different backgrounds.  Literature describing information and communications technology (ICT) certifications mainly refer to positive aspects such as meeting job market needs, standardisation of courses, and decreased time for course development. Challenges identified raise several questions and call for further investigation. Among challenges identified were companies practically deciding examination criteria, student’s recall learnt material rather than understanding concepts, and the usage of non-academic material.  Interviews reveal that students are aware of many challenges, but still the benefits of achieving a certification outweighs. For instance, students rather accept a course with out-dated material and company decided examination criteria that result in a certification than taking a course based on research and examinations that foster creativity through reflection, analysing skills with no certification.  From a teacher and instructor perspective, the interviews reveal that there is awareness about the challenges of using certifications in higher education. One of the pedagogical issues we would like to present is how to create a learning environment with embedded certification in a course rather than basing courses on certifications alone.  This paper also open up for a discussion on how these results affect other areas than the ICT domain, but also on how the challenges can be tackled from a higher education perspective that rethink the academia as a learning organisation.

    I Högskolan i Skövdes (HS) nuvarande utvecklingsplan beskrivs att samtliga utbildningsprogram som ges vid lärosätet skall erbjuda möjligheter till studier utomlands. Som en konsekvens har en strategisk satsning för att stimulera en ökad mobilitet vid HS initierats genom att Institutionen för informationsteknologi (IIT) tillsammans med verksamhetsstödet har deltagit i ett UHR-projekt med fokus på vägledningsprocessen i samband med mobilitet.

    Projektet har pågått under 18 månader och ett 10-tal deltagare som representerar de flesta roller som är involverade i internationaliseringsarbetet på IIT och verksamhetsstödet har ingått. Projektet har bedrivits främst som en serie av workshoppar där parallell datainsamling har skett med hjälp av intervjuer och enkätstudier.

    I detta bidrag vill vi visa några av de mål som projektet fokuserat på samt syftet med dessa. Projektet har haft följande mål:

    Identifiera minst tre partnerlärosäten som passar varje utbildningsprogram - Målet syftar till att kartlägga både existerande och nya partnerlärosäte för att på så sätt sänka tröskeln för studenter som är intresserade av utbyte, men som har svårt att hitta lämpliga alternativ.

    Tydliggöra roll- och ansvarsfördelning i mobilitetsprocessen - Detta mål syftar till att utforma processbeskrivningar för att tydliggöra roll- och ansvarsfördelning kring utresandeprocessen för programansvarig, ämnesföreträdare, internationell koordinator, studie- och karriärvägledaren, studenten och partnerlärosätet. Även kommunikationsaspekter och studentperspektiv beaktas i detta mål.

    Skapa adekvat vägledning och informationsinsatser gentemot studenterna - Syftet med målet är att utveckla, strukturera och systematisera informationsvägar och kommunikation mellan vägledning, programansvarig, partnerlärosäte och studenter.

    Identifiera och utvärdera nyckelfaktorerna för att förbättra stödet till studenterna, undanröja hinder i mobilitetsprocessen samt underlätta programansvarigas och studie- och karriärvägledarnas arbete med utresande studenter - Målet är att identifiera och utvärdera nyckelfaktorer som hindrar mobilitet som kan spridas internt på HS samt externt för att i förlängningen öka mobiliteten bland Sveriges studenter.

    Se till att samtliga kandidatprogram på IIT har en termin avsatt för utlandsstudier och undanröja de hinder som finns i befintliga programstrukturer - Syftet är att göra det enklare för studenter att under sin ordinarie studietid genomföra utbytesstudier utan att deras studier vid HS blir drabbade av förkunskapsstrukturer som hindrar fortsatta studier vid hemkomst.

    I studien inkludera de studenter som har varit intresserade eller sökt utbytesstudier men som inte kommit iväg på utbyte - Syftet är att skapa en god översikt över vilka skäl denna studentkategori har haft för att avstå utbytesstudier för att på så vis kunna förbättra existerande processer för utbytesstudier och därmed minimera risken att intresserade studenter väljer att avstå från utbytesstudier.

    Vid projektets avslut analyserades projektets direkta och indirekta interorganisatoriska effekter tillsammans med aktuell statistik för de studenter som under 2017 nominerats för utbytesstudier. En uppenbar effekt av projektets arbete är att antalet studenter som 2017 vid IIT nominerats för utbytesstudier ökat kraftigt. Likaså observeras ökade kunskaper om processen kring utbytesstudier och ett förbättrat studentperspektiv och bättre kunskaper om studenternas upplevelse av nomineringsprocessen.

    Under presentation vill vi visa upp fler detaljer från vår analys samt hur vi planerar att arbeta vidare med de resultat vi fått fram i projektet.

    Abstract [en]

    Purpose: The study aims to revisit six previously defined challenges in information security risk management to provide insights into new challenges based on current practices. Design/methodology/approach: The study is based on an empirical study consisting of in-depth interviews with representatives from public sector organisations. The data were analysed by applying a practice-based view, i.e. the lens of knowing (or knowings). The results were validated by an expert panel. Findings: Managerial and organisational concerns that go beyond a technical perspective have been found, which affect the ongoing social build-up of knowledge in everyday information security work. Research limitations/implications: The study has delimitation as it consists of data from four public sector organisations, i.e. statistical analyses have not been in focus, while implying a better understanding of what and why certain actions are practised in their security work. Practical implications: The new challenges that have been identified offer a refined set of actionable advice to practitioners, which, for example, can support cost-efficient decisions and avoid unnecessary security trade-offs. Originality/value: Information security is increasingly relevant for organisations, yet little is still known about how related risks are handled in practice. Recent studies have indicated a gap between the espoused and the actual actions. Insights from actual, situated enactment of practice can advise on process adaption and suggest more fit approaches.

    This paper presents a comprehensive systematic literature review of information classification (IC) enablers. We propose a classification based on the well-known levels of management: strategic, tactical and operational. The results reveal that a large number of enablers could be adopted to increase the applicability of IC in organizations. The results also indicate that there is not one single enabler solving the problem, but rather several enablers can influence the adoption.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: In recent years, sickness absence has increased in Sweden. Something that also has become noted is how the individual manages to combine their living and working conditions. Living conditions includes everthing that happens outside paid work. Partner, children and the private economy are factors that also are included in the individuals living conditions. With working conditions means everthing that happens at work, but also events related to work. Sickness absence can be seen as a consequence of the fact that the individual is not able to balance their living and working conditions, which in turn may have an impact on the organisation. On this basis this study’s problem area was developed from a perspective that combines sickness absence and the experience of balance, between the two main areas that the individual constantly orients between.

    Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine which factors in the lifesituation that is recurring among employees who are experiencing similar degrees of balance between living and working conditons.

    Method: The methodology used in this study was a questionnaire, which was analyzed with help of an understanding interpretation. The method was choosen because of the sensitive nature of this subject, but also to keep the respondents anonymous. As mentioned, the subject of sickness absence is interesting to examine in relation to the subject of balance. Therefore the selection of respondents was based on their history of sickness absence, and formed two respondents groups: sickness absence and healthy attendence. This to investigate differences and similarities between the two groups.

    Findings: The theories of work-life balance and work-life conflict, which is about how balance and conflicts occurs between individuals living and working conditions, were used to make an understanding interpretation of respondents’ surveys. The study showed no distinctive differences regarding the experience of balance, between the respondents groups.

    Uppsatsens syfte är att genom ett symboliskt interaktionistiskt och ett social konstruktionistiskt perspektiv öka förståelsen för hur personer som anser att de överskrider de dikotomiska kategorierna man/kvinna konstruerar sitt genus. Samt problematisera om och hur individer kan frångå dessa kategorier i skapandet av genus. Studien grundades på sju djupintervjuer med personer som upplevde att de överskred eller inte identifierade sig med kategorierna man/kvinna. Som teoretisk grund gällande identitetskonstruktion och socialisation har vi främst använt oss av Berger och Luckmann (1991) samt tolkningar av Mead (Berg, 1992; 2007). För att få en djupare insikt kring genuskonstruktion har teorier av Butler (2007) samt Connell (2003; 1996) använts. Konstruktionen av könsidentiteten är en ständigt pågående process som är i ständigt behov av upprätthållelse. Upprätthållandet sker till stor del genom identifikation och bekräftelse samt uttryck, så som språk och yttre attribut. Då samhället har ett mycket dikotomiskt synsätt gällande kön/genus så krävs av respondenterna ett aktivt ställningstagande för att de ska kunna avvika från det normativa. Respondenterna kan dock inte helt frångå de dikotomiska kategorierna då de måste förhålla sig till dem i mötet med andra människor. Eftersom de avviker från det normativa får de också svårare att upprätthålla könsidentiteten då den inte uppmuntras av samhällsnormen och det därmed blir svårare att få bekräftelse och hitta identifikationsobjekt. Vi menar att denna uppsats ger den socialpsykologiska diskursen gällande genus, en bredare syn på identitets- och genuskonstruktion utanför normen, då vi uppfattar detta som underrepresenterat inom den socialpsykologiska forskningen.

    Ekonomin blir allt mer global och redovisningsinformation analyseras av olika investerare över hela världen. Informationen som jämförs behöver vara jämförbar med varandra för att ge rättvisande vägledning i ett beslutsfattande. Börsnoterade företag inom Europeiska unionen ska upprätta sin redovisning enligt IFRS och företag som är noterade i USA ska upprätta sin redovisning enligt US GAAP. Det som skiljer regelverken åt är att US GAAP är mer regelbaserat och IFRS är principbaserat, vilket medför att företagsledningen har möjlighet att påverka redovisningen i viss utsträckning. Regelverken skiljer sig åt på en mängd olika punkter för att i vissa avseenden påminna om varandra. Men det är skillnaderna som skapar den informationsasymmetri som sedan kan vilseleda investerare som jämför bolag mellan de olika regelverken.Syftet med denna studie är att analysera om redovisning enligt IFRS eller US GAAP leder till signifikanta skillnader mellan olika nyckeltal. Genom att analysera detta vill vi belysa de eventuella skillnader som kan uppstå i de finansiella nyckeltalen vilket kan ändra investerares intresse för företaget.I studien har 21 stycken dubbelnoterade läkemedelsföretag ingått. Med dubbelnoterade innebär det i denna studie att företagen är noterade på börsen både i Europa och i USA. För dessa företag har två stycken mått för skuldsättning, två stycken mått för lönsamhet och två stycken mått för likviditet beräknats och analyserats. Komponenterna för att beräkna nyckeltalen har hämtats ur företagens egna årsredovisningar som upprättats enligt både IFRS och US GAAP. För att fastställa om regelverken har någon signifikant påverkan på nyckeltalen har vi analyserat våra nyckeltal genom en hypotesprövning. Genom denna studie har vi konstaterat att regelverken inte har någon signifikant påverkan på något av de undersökta företagens nyckeltal.

    Detta arbete fokuserar på de romanser som spelare kan inleda med icke-spelbara karaktärer samt vilken påverkan könsrelaterade stereotyper har på dessa. För att undersöka detta har det utvecklats ett textbaserat spel där deltagarna fick möjlighet att välja mellan karaktärer som porträtterar könsrelaterade stereotyper samt icke-stereotyper. Deltagarna intervjuades sedan skriftligt och en analys av den insamlade datan tyder på att spelare föredrar kvinnliga karaktärer som lever upp till stereotypiska ideal. För framtida arbeten skulle det vara intressant att även fråga deltagare efter deras sexuella läggning, då det i nuläget var en majoritet som inledde en romans med en kvinnlig karaktär och data således var något bristande för manliga karaktärer.

    Trots att den moderna ledarskapsforskningen började redan på 1950 – talet och är ett av de gångna årens mest studerade områden så finns det fortfarande aspekter inom detta område som inte är lika utforskade som andra. En av dessa ledarskapsaspekter är något som kallas ”det vardagsnära ledarskapet”. Ett tämligen nyetablerat och ”svenskt” fenomen som i korta drag, enligt de få tidigare, men väldigt erkända, studierna innebär att chefen bör delta så mycket som möjligt i de vardagliga arbetsuppgifterna istället för att sitta på kontoret.

    I dessa tidigare studier framkommer det även att det vardagsnära ledarskapet är högst lämpligt inom detaljhandeln och är speciellt lyckat inom mindre butiker. Denna vedertagna information leder rapporten mot sitt syfte, som är att undersöka det vardagsnära ledarskapet inom detaljhandeln och identifiera vilka eventuella kännetecken som kan finnas i dessa mindre butiker.

    För att kunna svara på studiens syfte har rapportens insamlingsmetod utgått från en kvalitativ semi-strukturerad observation kompletterat med kortare intervjuer. I studien har fyra mindre butiker granskats och iakttagits med hjälp av utformade observationstabeller, för att säkerställa att analysen och diskussionen kring studiens resultat blir så rättvisande som möjligt.

    Resultat från studien visar att det finns utmärkande kännetecken av det vardagsnära ledarskapet inom mindre butiker, och att dessa kännetecknande egenskaper i allra högsta grad påverkar butikscheferna i deras ledarskap.

    As consumers get increasingly impact on the market, companies must fight harder to find unique pieces to gain loyal customers, then it costs more to create new customer relationships than to maintain their current. As competition intensifies and it becomes more and more play-ers in the market, companies must fight for customer loyalty, here comes loyalty program and its importance in. The goal of this paper is to see how important a loyalty program can be for a company and compare customer perceptions to the company's own opinion. We have chosen to do a quali-tative study in the shape of an interview with the customer club manager at the company, as well as a quantitative survey in the shape of a survey to loyalty club members, in order to get the best results and to compare but also put these two against each other. When the response rate to the survey was very low, this gives the investigation a low reliability and thus should also be questioning member’s commitment to the club. In terms of results, you can clearly see that there are economic benefits such as discounts that customers demand, something that customer club is already well aware of. However, the re-sults are not consistent with the theory, which says that the non-economic benefits are most important. You can clearly see that the customer perception in comparison with the company match in broad terms. In order to get a higher profitability, the company should focus equally on all segments, something they currently don’t.

    Abstract [en]

    Background and problem: For a long time, it has been considered that the military service is one of the manliest things that can be done, because that is when "boys become men", and there has been a notion that women do not belong in the military sphere. This is because women were physically weaker and in need of protection from men, which has led to a barrier for women from positioning themselves in the military. The Swedish armed forces are one of Sweden's last male occupational monopolies and was first set aside 1989 and many demands have been made for women to be able to establish themselves in the authority. Historically, the armed forces were perceived to have a "grubby" jargon, women felt they were badly treated by command and sexism was something that seemed to be deeply rooted. Sweden is one of the countries in the world with the highest proportion of women in working life. Despite this, Sweden has one of the most gender-based segregation of the labor market in the world. The Swedish armed forces are currently working on gender equality in the form of action plans for gender mainstreaming and targets for achieving a more balanced gender balance. But only 17 percent of their employees are women, which makes the armed forces one of Sweden's most gender segregated workplaces.

    Purpose and method: The purpose of this study was to raise awareness and increase understanding of how socially constructed gender norms are perceived affecting women's opportunities to work, develop their careers and remain in male-dominated organizations, in this case the Swedish armed forces. Nine semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted at Trängregementet where the respondents consisted of both women and men who are officers. In addition to the interviews, several different documents have been examined as the primary basis for the discourse analysis that was carried out in the study. The reviewed documentation and the interviews also appeared as a supplement to each other. The discourse analytical methods used were parts of discourse psychology and Bacchias WPR approach. The interviews and the reviewed documents also form the triangulation of the study in order to obtain a broader perspective and thus the possibility of a deeper, more accurate and complete picture of the armed forces gender equality work.

    Results and conclusions: Based on the discourse analysis that was done, it was to be found that the armed forces see the individual as the problem rather than that the organization needs to be addressed. The individual should also form or create the solution. Women have formally good opportunities to make careers in the armed forces. Career development, however, is perceived as too fast so that relevant knowledge and experiences are not obtained to the extent that is felt needed. In addition, women have challenges with their identity development where they are torn between not being too "feminine" but also not to "masculine". Therefore, they feel absence of achieving the expectations that are put on them or they choose to adopt a more "masculine" forms to adapt to the norm. Stereotypes and jargon thus affect women from a negative aspect of their work.

    Consumers’ intentions don’t always result in actions. This study focuses on ethical consumers in order to investigate why a gap between intention and action occur. Based on this an improved understanding for the underlying factors that impact buying behaviour is created. A delimitation has been made to focus this study on retail apparel and ethical and sustainable clothes. Some factors have been seen to be of bigger importance to the gap than others, such as price, lack of information and convenience. The results also imply that there is a missing trust from the consumers’ point of view when it comes to trusting what is communicated about ethical and sustainable work within the clothing industry.

    Background: People is often considered to be the organization's most important resource. For this reason, it is exceedingly important that the right candidate is being hired to the right company. It is not always quite easy to be objective as a recruiter in the choice of candidates. This is based on the fact that we humans may have a difficulty in distinguishing our personal opinions about the candidate from what is actually considered relevant in a recruitment context. People tend to like other people who share similar attitudes, personality traits and economic status as themselves. This in turn may lead recruiters to making hasty conclusions due to preconceptions and unconsciously create prejudices against candidates.

    Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study is therefore to create an understanding of why recruiters have difficulties in making fair assessments of candidates and what they can do to deal with these difficulties in reducing the risk of unconscious discrimination. The reason for choosing this area is that despite the fact that there are research on how prejudices affect the assessment of other people, there are not many studies that highlight this from a recruitment context.

    Method: The empirical material of the study has been collected through interviews with recruiters from ten different companies in different industries. Theories and effects have been used in this study for the purpose of analysing interview answers and these are the following: the liking-similarity effect, balance theory, kompetensblomman (the competence flower), the halo effect, the devil effect and the five-factor model of personality.

    Conclusion: The results of the study have shown that the different companies make use of prejudices in recruitment unknowingly. It has been shown, among other things, that respondents views on candidates' appearance are a decisive factor in the recruitment process. However, it has also been shown that recruiters can work against prejudice by having clearly structured interview questions, so as not to risk asking irrelevant questions for the work positions concerned. A recruiter can also work against prejudices by having clear demands on the candidates they request. Those candidates who do not meet the requirements will therefore not be able to be called on interview.

    Skatteundandraganden inom kontantbranschen är ett stort problem. Restaurangbranschen är den bransch som är mest drabbad men det förekommer även i taxi- och frisörbranschen. Med kontantbranschen avses en verksamhet, där det mest förekommer kontanter och där köparna oftast inte har något intresse av kvitto. Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att ta reda på hur Skatteverket får kännedom om ett eventuellt skatteundandragande inom kontantbranschen. Utifrån den kännedomen har det varit intressant att även undersöka vilka åtgärder Skatteverket vidtar därefter.

    Skatteverket får reda på skatteundandraganden på en mängd olika sätt exempelvis genom att företaget inte fört personalliggare eller att skatterevisorerna fått in orena revisionsberättelser av de externa revisorerna eller genom anonyma tips från allmänheten. Skatteverket kan även genom kund- respektive kontanträkning hitta felaktigheter i företagens redovisning. Skatteverket kan genom en skatterevision avgöra om felaktigheterna har skett genom misstag och okunskap, eller om det har skett på ett avsiktligt sätt, för att företaget skall kunna stoppa undan kontanter som egentligen skall beskattas. Beror felen på avsiktlighet från företagets sida har de begått ett brott och skatterevisorn skall genast göra en anmälan till EBM.

    Genom att intervjua tre skatterevisorer samt två skatteinformatörer, har slutsatser kunnat dras att Skatteverkets arbete för att försöka bekämpa skatteundandraganden är mycket omfattande. Skatteverket har olika metoder de kan använda sig av för att försöka upptäcka skatteundandraganden. Det senaste är att det kommer en ny lag år 2010 som kräver att alla företag som säljer varor och tjänster mot kontant betalning skall ha certifierade kassaregister och då kommer Skatteverket ytterliggare ett steg närmare fusket inom framförallt restaurangbranschen som är den bransch där det förekommer mest skattefusk.

    We live in a society where there is a lot of stress. Children experience on increasing level of stress that can be related to decreasing physical activity and to the fact that they spend more and more of their free time playing computer games or watching the television. This creates a bad habit among the young children, who rather sit down than move around. I assume it is important that the pre-school create such a habit for the children that they want to get outdoors and that outdoor play it is fun and exciting. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the pre-school teachers’ professional role for their pedagogical work in the pre-school playground. The three research questions answered are: (1) How do pre-school teachers’ reason about the educational work regarding children’s outdoor play in the pre-school playground? (2) How are pre-school teachers involved in the design of the pre-school playground in relation to the educational work with the children? And (3) what do they express related to their own participation in the design of the outdoor pre-school playground? The study sets out from the following concepts, children’s play, pre-school playground, outdoor activity and pedagogical work. The study is qualitative and based on interviews with pre-school teachers. The result showed that the pre-school playgrounds in this study, meet the children´s "natural" needs, where they can use their bodies in a natural way as, by running, jumping, playing and to cooperate, both in self-determined or controlled activities. Pre-school teachers’ interest in the outdoor environment design has contributed a great deal to children’s play and development. The study contributes to an insight into what the outdoor environment is about and how its design affects children's outdoor play and development.

    Abstract [en]

    Although there is a considerable evidence on the link between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and economic growth in developing countries, the causal relationship of these two variables still remains an important question. This study attempts to examine the possible causal relationship between FDI and economic growth in Turkey, during the period 1992 (Quarter 2) – 2006 (Quarter 3). We employed the Johansen Cointegration and Granger Causality tests for detecting the long run or short run causality. Our results showed that there is no long run relationship between the variables, which led us to search the causality in the short run. However we couldn’t find any evidence for a causality running from FDI to economic growth or economic growth to FDI in Turkey.

    The purpose of this study is to examine how textile companies are using "green arguments" in their marketing strategy and how these arguments affect the competitiveness on the market for each of the six companies.The survey that was conducted is based on qualitative interviews with managers responsible for environmental issues in the field of marketing. The purpose of the survey was to examine how companies are using “green arguments" in order to create competitive advantages. We have chosen to limit the study to the textile industry with the study being carried out in six different companies. The two main theories that make up most of the theoretical framework are Porters five forces and the marketing mix.The survey showed that companies today are using green arguments in their marketing strategy to gain competitive advantages, but only to a certain extent. All companies understood the importance of working proactively with environmental issues and with reducing the impact company activities have on the environment. However, the study also shows that the companies do not actively communicate their environmental work and the measures taken by the companies to their respective customer segments. The impression is that a lot of the environmental work is done mainly because companies do not want to fall behind their competitors and because it might turn out to be a competitive advantage in the future.

    Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka i vilken grad olika fysiska avvikelser kring en humanoids ögon/syn kan framkalla stötande känslor, de fysiska avvikelser som undersöks är: sjukdom, stympning och mutation. Studien byggde bland annat kring teorier kopplade till attraktivitet och hälsa och undersökte hur man kan använda ohälsa för att väcka stötande känslor.Inför studien skapades totalt åtta porträtt, en för varje fysisk avvikelse samt kön. En enkät skickades sedan ut till män och kvinnor i åldrarna 18-29 där de fick ta ställning till porträtten genom att gradera dem utifrån en 7-siffrig skala.Resultatet i undersökningen visade att majoriteten av respondenterna upplevde den fysiska avvikelse mutation som mest stötande, detta på grund av dess omänskliga utseende. Det fanns dock en problematik kring användningen av 3D modeller i undersökningen, framtida arbete skulle gynnas av att använda ett annat medium, exempelvis fotografi.

    Det socialkonstruktivistiska synsättet på lärande och vikten av samspel och kommunikation som ett medel för lärande är idag mycket aktuellt. Det framhålls av både forskare inom pedagogik och i läroplaner. Följande studie har behandlat undervisningen i ämnet matematik, med utgångspunkt i hur kommunikation används som ett lärandeverktyg. Teorier om att kunskap är något som överförs till eleverna, traditionell förmedlingspedagogik, eller att det byggs upp främst genom enskild aktivitet, konstruktivism, får idag mindre intresse. Därför är det intressant att ta reda på i vilken grad dessa utgör en del av matematikundervisningen. Syftet med studien har varit att urskilja de lärandeteorier som synliggörs i matematikundervisningen, med utgångspunkt i hur de olika teorierna ser på kommunikation som ett lärandeverktyg. Fyra intervjuer med lärare i år två har utgjort underlag för den empiriska datainsamlingen. Resultatet visade att alla tre grundläggande lärandeteorier som studien utgått från utgör en del av lärarnas matematikundervisning. Det skiljer sig dock mellan lärarna i vilken grad dessa syns i deras utsagor om undervisningen och i vilken utsträckning kommunikation används som ett medvetet och problematiserat lärandeverktyg. Det är inte självklart att den lärandeteori som är mest omtalad för tillfället alltid är den bästa. En slutsats är också att ett kommunikativt klassrum inte uppstår automatiskt, det krävs exempelvis en inställning att alla kan bidra till varandras lärande och att eleverna får möjlighet att öva på sina kommunikationsfärdigheter.

This is highlighted from pedagogical researchers and also the national curriculum. The following study has dealt with the teaching in mathematics and emphasises the use of communication as a learning tool. Theories which claim that knowledge is something which can be easily transferred to students or constructed mainly through individual activity, constructivism, is today of minor interest. Therefore it is interesting to find out in which degree these theories are reflected in the mathematics education of today. The aim of this study is to identify different theories of learning which can be recognized from four teachers’ statements of their own teaching in mathematics. Our point of departure was the different theories view of communication as a learning tool. The empirical data collection has been performed by four interviews. The result is pointing out that the four teachers’ classroom work reflects all three of the fundamental learning theories, which has been the base of the study. Although there is a difference between the teachers, in what degree these theories “appear” in their lessons and how they consciously use communication as a learning tool. It is not clear that the most current learning theory always is preferable. A main conclusion is also that a classroom which is characterised of communication and dialogues does not occur by itself. An attitude that assumes that everyone can contribute to each other’s learning is required and that the students get opportunities to practise their communication skills is of great importance.

    Syftet med denna studie är att attribuera effekten av rättvist ledarskap på arbetstillfredsställelse då det saknats specifik forskning inom området. Studien genomfördes i ett verksamhetsområde inom kriminalvården. Studien syftade även till att undersöka effekten av rättvist ledarskap på turnover intention och förekomsten av psykosomatiska besvär hos de anställda. Totalt 103 kriminalvårdare besvarade enkäten som mätte ovan nämnda variabler. Resultaten visade ett signifikant positivt samband mellan samtliga former av rättvisa och arbetstillfredsställelse. Resultaten visade vidare ett samband att rättvist ledarskap leder till en minskning av psykosomatiska besvär och minskad grad av turnover intention.

    Abstract [en]

    Body-mass index (BMI) has increased steadily in most countries in parallel with a rise in the proportion of the population who live in cities1,2. This has led to a widely reported view that urbanization is one of the most important drivers of the global rise in obesity3-6. Here we use 2,009 population-based studies, with measurements of height and weight in more than 112 million adults, to report national, regional and global trends in mean BMI segregated by place of residence (a rural or urban area) from 1985 to 2017. We show that, contrary to the dominant paradigm, more than 55% of the global rise in mean BMI from 1985 to 2017-and more than 80% in some low- and middle-income regions-was due to increases in BMI in rural areas. This large contribution stems from the fact that, with the exception of women in sub-Saharan Africa, BMI is increasing at the same rate or faster in rural areas than in cities in low- and middle-income regions. These trends have in turn resulted in a closing-and in some countries reversal-of the gap in BMI between urban and rural areas in low- and middle-income countries, especially for women. In high-income and industrialized countries, we noted a persistently higher rural BMI, especially for women. There is an urgent need for an integrated approach to rural nutrition that enhances financial and physical access to healthy foods, to avoid replacing the rural undernutrition disadvantage in poor countries with a more general malnutrition disadvantage that entails excessive consumption of low-quality calories.

    Abstract [en]

    This study is based on teacher’s interpretation of sustainable development in biology. The aim is to examine the grounds on which teachers choose methods and subject content. The teachers who were interviewed operate in grades 4-6. The interviews are semi-structured, which means that the themes were ordinated on a given interview guide, the questions are not posed by any predetermined order. The teachers who are included in the study are competent in biology, and the selection process is based on a convenience sample. The teachers got as advance information the purpose of the study. The results of the study show three different types of teachers with different approaches to sustainable development. The three approaches are: Sustainable development in everyday life, sustainable development from a global perspective as well as attitudes and values of sustainable development. Another category was added after further work with the results and that is the common part, it appears that discussion, awareness and the current debate on sustainable development are key components. The discussion highlights including how sustainable development involves the community and the teachers in the study adopts an educational approach to the area. The discussion also reveals the abilities that are important in the process of sustainable development. The study shows that the teachers provide and enable knowledge as a tool for students to have necessary skills to function in society for sustainable development. It is knowledge of pupils' individual ability to function in society in our common reference framework. Students practice and develop their ability to understand the consequences of different choices and lifestyles.
