    Abstract [en]

    Playing and enjoying games might seem like a simple task to most people even though many games rely heavily on sensory, cognitive and motoric ability. To create games that are accessible and inclusive to a wide range of audiences, it is important that design choices are considered carefully. This thesis aims to provide an investigation into closed captioning and enhanced speech bubbles. The goal is to clarify and to compare what effects these features have on the perception of situational and affective information and how they affect the immersion of non-disabled players. Two experiments were performed with a total of 38 participants at the University of Skövde. Each experiment investigated a separate accessibility feature and evaluated their influence on the gameplay experience. By performing two experiments, it was possible to identify the strengths and weaknesses of both features in comparison to each other. The results show that closed captions can have a negative effect on the immersion of the player and that enhanced speech bubbles increase immersion and provide additional affective information to the player.

    Abstract [en]

    The scope of this thesis will be focused on the machine FORMA Z1 which is one ofthe most functional amongst the sort of machines currently available in the market. Itprovides faster tool changes besides a huge variety of tool layouts with the possibility ofmaking a product with one only set up. Furthermore, the combi-beam rotation capability,together with dual sets of tools, give to the machine an exceptional competence.Through this project, some of the shortcomings in the usability of the machine are evaluatedto be able to give an accurate solution to provide it of extra functionalities, thusacquiring better efficiency during the performance. This solution consists of the developmentof a device which will aid the operator during the tool arrangement of the machine.The solution includes a platform with a laser that will point out where the operator mustplace the corresponding tool. The system will know where to locate it because the realmachine would generate an XML file which would contain all necessary data. All thisdata will be read by a computer and send it to the microcontroller that will control allthe system.The solution proposed improves the throughput and reduces the time needed in the bendingprocess increasing the facility in the process of bending metal sheet. However, thereare some disadvantages on the implementation of this device. The new machine wouldbe more expensive and the software would be changed to include the new system and theprogram that reads the XML document.

    Abstract [en]

    The technological advances have led to faster and more cost-effective sequencing platforms, making it quicker and more affordable to generate genomic sequence data. For the study of bacterial genome, two main methods can be used, whole-genome sequencing and metagenomic shotgun sequencing, of which the first is the mostly used in the past years.

    As a consequence of these advances, a vast amount of data is currently available and the need of bioinformatics tools to efficiently analyse and interpret it has dramatically increased. At present, there is a great quantity of tools to use in each step of bacterial genome characterization: (1) pre-processing, (2) de novo assembly, (3) annotation, and (4) taxonomic and functional comparisons. Therefore, it is difficult to decide which tools are better to use and the analysis is slowed down when changing from one tool to another. In order to tackle this, the pipeline BACTpipe was developed. This pipeline concatenates both bioinformatics tools selected based on a previous testing and additional scripts to perform the whole bacterial analysis at once. The most relevant output generated by BACTpipe are the annotated de novo assembled genomes, the newick file containing the phylogenetic relationships between species, and the gene presence-absence matrix, which the users can then filter according to their interests.

    After testing BACTpipe with a set of bacterial whole-genome sequence data, 60 genes out of the 18195 found in all the Lactobacillus species analysed were classified as core genes, i.e. genes shared among all these species. Housekeeping genes or genes involved in the replication, transcription, or translation processes were identified

    The aim of this paper is to evaluate the possibilities and problems with using hypermedia for the modeling phases of software development methods, i.e. using the World Wide Web and a browser for drawing and viewing models and for hyperlinking models and information that is related to the models.

    A number of Web-techniques have been discussed and analyzed to see if they could support Web-based modeling, and in what way they could do this.

    The modeling techniques of two software development methods have been used to compare the Web-techniques.

    The conclusion is made that all the Web-techniques could, in some way, support Web-based modeling, depending on how it is implemented.

    Analysis of somatic mutations in papillomavirus positive tumours from younger and older oropharyngeal cancer patients2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    ABSTRACT Background: Human Papilloma Virus positive (HPV+) Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), dominated by tonsillar cancer (TSCC) and base of tongue cancer (BOTSCC) has low mutation-frequency and better survival for younger than older patients.Aim: To examine if HPV+ TSCC and BOTSCC have distinct gene-mutation profiles, for 50 often-mutated genes in cancer, in younger compared to older patients and to test and compare different variant callers to get a deeper understanding of the data.Materials and methods: DNA had previously been extracted from 299 formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor biopsies and 13 normal samples, and sequenced on the Ion Proton sequencer, a NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) platform. Alignment and variant calling had been performed via the Ion Torrent Suite software v5 (ITS), and Torrent Variant Caller (TVC).UPPMAX, a High-Performance-Computational cluster (HPC) at Uppsala University was used for storing and computing of the sequenced data. Parallel-processing was used to optimize repetitive steps, saving days of computation time. The descriptive analysis, graphical data representations, and more in-depth analysis, were done in R.Initially, variant calling was performed for 13 tumor/normal paired samples using the novel MuTect2 software from the Genome Analysis Toolkit (GATK) toolset. Variant annotation and statistical analysis was performed on all the 13 paired sequenced samples, using SnpEff. Due to a poor overlap between the above MuTect2 and TVC, after adequate filtering TVC, MuTect, Strelka and VarScan2 were also utilized for comparison.Result and Conclusion: Having only 13 normal samples, normal-tumor paired variant calling to distinguish germ line and somatic variants could not be performed. To obtain an approximation of the amount of germline variation in our cohort, additional variant callers were used for the tumor normal pairs. The data obtained with the TVC caller formed the basis for further analysis of the tumor samples.Notably, comparisons of TVC with MuTect2 output revealed major discrepancies and limited overlap. However, when comparing MuTect2 with MuTect, Strelka, or VarScan 2 regarding overlaps with TVC – the overlap were still limited, but higher degrees of overlaps were disclosed between Strelka, MuTect and MuTec2, indicating that MuTect2 was a successful further development and successor of MuTect.Evidence for presence of distinct gene-mutation profiles correlating to age could not be obtained in the analyzed tumor cohort with the software tool kits applied. Statistical analysis using Wilcoxon-Mann Whitney test did not support a hypothesis of distinct age related mutations for any of the 50 genes analyzed in this tumor cohorts.The highest p-value for the Wilcoxon-Mann Whitney test was for the gene APC, at p ~ 0.054 hints at a possible connection. However, more extensive research with more samples sequenced is necessary to confirm or reject this correlation.

    Oral and genital human papillomavirus (HPV) prevalence in young women and men attending a youth clinic in Stockholm, Sweden: A follow up study after the introduction of HPV vaccination2017Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

    Background and Aim: In 2010 HPV vaccination was subsidized in Sweden and in 2012 a national vaccination program against HPV16, 18, 6 and 11 was launched for girls ages 10-12 years. In parallel was a catch-up vaccination program for young women. To investigate base line HPV cervical and oral prevalence in non-vaccinated youth two studies were performed at a youth clinic in Stockholm 2008-2011. This project initiated 2013 aimed to follow HPV prevalence in youth since the previous studies, in the same population.  

    Materials and Methods: 117 women, of which 73% were HPV catch-up vaccinated donated 93 cervical samples and 117 oral samples, and 54 unvaccinated men donated 54 oral samples and 47 urinary samples. All samples were tested for 27 HPV types with a PCR based system and the data was compared to that obtained in 2008-2011. The categorical Fishers exact test was used for statistical analysis due to HPV-positive samples being n< 5 for certain types. 

    Results and Conclusion: HPV16 cervical prevalence was significantly lower in the HPV vaccinated women compared to unvaccinated women (7% and 27% respectively, p=0.033) in the 2013 group. For HPV18 and HPV6 there was a significantly lower prevalence in the 2013 vaccinated group compared to the 2008-2010 unvaccinated group (1.5% vs. 10% respectively, p=0.021 and 1.5% vs. 8% respectively, p=0.048). Overall oral HPV prevalence for both genders, was lower in the 2013 group compared to that of 2009-2011, (2.3% and 9.1% respectively, p=0.005). Male urinary prevalence was low (6%) and not efficient to follow changes in specific HPV types. The data indicate that HPV catch-up vaccination was gradually exhibiting an effect, with significant decrease of cervical HPV16 prevalence.

    Abstract [en]

    This studies focus is to analyze the impact on Swedish hosting companies after the announcement about Meltdown and Spectre.

    Meltdown and Spectre are two security issues that reside on modern processors today. It has been said that the hosting business will take most of the impact generated by the patches to fix the problem. The effects that it could have on the companies are performance degradation but also questions arising during the patching process. The companies that were chosen to be part of this study were small to medium sized hosting companies located in different places in Sweden.

    A qualitative interview study was used to collect data. An email was used to contact companies to be redirected to the person that had been involved with the work around Meltdown and Spectre. Totally 59 companies were contacted to see if there were interest in participating in the study. Out of those 59 companies, there were four contributors, where three of these were real interviews over Skype and one over email. The data collected from the interviews were analyzed and showed that:

    The companies have been affected by the updates, but not to the extent that it would change the day-today operations. The part that touched the companies the most was the work process that had to be performed to apply the updates, as well as the complications from the supplier's side to deliver a secure working patch in time.

    Becoming a parent is an overwhelming experience. It is important to have support available for those who need it in order for parents to safely meet the needs of their child, and to strengthen the development of their child. The Child Health Nurse has a central role in supporting parents with childen aged 0-6 years. The aim of this study was to describe Child Health Nurses experiences of supporting parents. The method being used was a qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach described by Lundman and Hällgren Graneheim. The data was collected through interviews with four Child Health Nurses. The result shows that the Child Health Nurses experienced that parenting support was something which took place each time they met with the parents. By being there for the family and by strengthening the own resources of the parents, she could support their parenting. A changed society demanded a change in child health care and the conditions given influenced the support available for parents.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: In the last couple of years there has been an ongoing change in the Swedish labor market where the knowledge-intensive companies find it harder to retain employees. This because highly educated employees generally are less experience less loyal towards the employer. Why companies wish to retain employees is because they aim for a low employee turnover, which is considered to be important for companies in several aspects. The study focus on important variables for employees, which makes them stay at a company, using a generation perspective. This perspective is used because employee’s work values and preferences are found to be affected by generational belonging.

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore which variables that make employees with different generation belongings stay at knowledge-intensive companies. This by illustrating Employee Retention from the employee’s perspective and using a generation perspective.

    Method: The study applies a qualitative approach since the purpose is to explore the employee’s experienced reality. A case-study method is also applied since it’s suitable for complicated social phenomenon. Fundamental for a case-study is to combine different data collection methods, which is why 10 semi-structured interviews and 25 questionnaires are made within the case-company. The analysis of the data was then made with directions of an analysis strategy, which lead to the conclusion of the study.

    Conclusion: This study has identified the most important Employee Retention-variables within each generation, which also acknowledge that the generational belonging affects the variables that the employees value and consequently makes them stay at a company. The study has also shown that the most important variables that are identified in the different generations, also are found in the psychological contract. If knowledge-intensive companies identifies these variables and thereby strengthen the psychological contract, the output will be organizational loyalty and Employee Retention.

    Abstract [en]

    Background: A Child health care nurse has a unique opportunity to identify children at risk of becoming overweight or obese. During consultation with parents, one of the most important tasks of nurses is to effectively communicate ways to benefit the child's health. Overweight and obesity are well known risk factors for chronic health conditions and decreased general health later in life, thus making the implementation of health promotion and preventative measures early in life vital.

    Aim: To evaluate the experiences of Child health care nurses after consultation with parents of overweight or obese children.

    Method: Interviews with nine Child health care nurses working with children's health were performed.An inductive approach was applied where data was analyzed with qualitative content analysis.

    Result: Four main categories emerged from the analysis; Family situation affects the consultation, Giving necessary guidance, Pedagogic strategy and Problems in communication, and nine subcategories.

    Conclusion: This study reveals that Child health care nurses identify trust as a major factor in consultations with parents. Trust is important for the nurse to be able to support and guide parents concerning weight issues of their children. The nurse must keep the family situation and surrounding factors influencing the meeting in mind.

    Syftet med studien var att få en förståelse för hur ungdomar dömda till sluten ungdomsvård uppfattar sig själva och hur institutionstiden påverkar deras självuppfattning. Studiens vetenskapsteoretiska perspektiv är Socialkonstruktionism och det teoretiska perspektivet är Symbolisk interaktionism. Teorier som används rör Självets socialisation (Mead, 1977 & Berger & Luckmann, 1979), Stämpling och avvikelse (Becker, 1991) samt Totalainstitutioner (Goffman, 1961). Studien bygger på kvalitativa semistruktureradeintervjuer med fem ungdomar dömda till sluten ungdomsvård och som vid intervjutillfället avtjänade sina straff på ett av Statens institutionsstyrelses ungdomshem. Slutsatser som kunde dras av studien var att ungdomarna upplevde sig som avvikande och var rädda för att stämplas som avvikare efter sin tid på institutionen. Vidare upplevde ungdomarna att de förändrats under tiden på institutionen och att de övriga intagna var viktiga för ungdomarnas välbefinnande.

    Människor har olika förutsättningar för att hitta i sin köksmiljö beroende på vilket hälsotillstånd som ligger till grund för den enskilde individen. Det finns personer som har ett försämrat arbetsminne på grund av att de fått diagnosen lindrig Alzheimers sjukdom. Idag ger många köksluckor ingen information om innehållet, och i varje enskild individs kök finns det olika objekt beroende på vad som används. Denna studie handlar om att hitta olika former av åtgärder i köksmiljöer för att lättare kunna hitta, det finns en förhoppning av att problemen med att inte hitta kan minska. Att använda datainsamlingstekniker som litteratur, intervjuer, workshop och fokusgrupp ska det gå att få reda på vilka åtgärder som kan fungera. Resultaten visar på att det finns problem, och dessa är tänkt att lösa med olika åtgärdsförslag. De förslag som framkommit som kognitiva stöd är bland annat, öppna planlösningar, individuella bilder och transparanta luckor.

    Eftersom databaser blir allt vanligare och används mer och mer inom allt större områden är det viktigt att finna modelleringsspråk som kan modellera egenskaperna för databashanteringssystemen under analys och design fasen. Aktiva databashanteringssystem har egenskapen att automatiskt kunna reagera på händelser som uppkommer. Aktiva databashanteringssystem klarar av att hantera s.k. ECA-regler. ECA-regler består av händelse, villkor och handling. För att kunna modellera aktiva databashanteringssystem krävs att det är möjligt att modellera ECA-regler. Ett modelleringsspråk som anses kunna modellera ECA-regler är UML. Berndtsson och Calestam (2001) anser dock att det finns brister i UML och har därför skapat en extension UML-A som bättre klarar av att uttrycka ECA-regler.

    Detta arbete undersöker ifall det finns några semantiska skillnader mellan UML och UML-A. Jämförelsen sker genom att ett antal exempelregler skapas och att dessa modelleras i både UML-A och UML. Modellerna utvärderas både semantiskt och grafiskt för att se ifall skillnader kan påvisas mellan modelleringsspråken. Resultaten som kommit fram i detta arbete är att det finns klara semantiska skillnader mellan UML och UML-A när det gäller ECA-regler. De brister som funnits hos UML har inte kunnat identifieras i UML-A vilket tyder på att UML-A mycket väl skulle kunna användas för att modellera ECA-regler och därmed även aktiva databashanteringssystem.

    Att undersöka huruvida det är möjligt att underlätta framställningen av ett elektroniskt handelssystem som använder sig av en existerande relationsdatabas är intressant av flera anledningar. Med Internets utveckling har möjligheterna till elektronisk handel ökat. Många företag har idag redan existerande databaser till sin verksamhet. Ändringar eller driftstopp i dessa databaser medför stora problem för företagen.

    Denna rapport beskriver en prototyp som underlättar användandet av en existerande databas och som underlättar skapandet av de komponenter som ingår i ett enkelt elektroniskt handelssystem. För att skapa prototypen har en hybrid mellan en templatbaserad och en hårdkodad lösning använts. Resultaten visar att det är möjligt att skapa en prototyp som kan använda en existerande relationsdatabas utan att behöva ta den ur drift eller göra förändringar i den. Prototypen kan dock inte anses vara användbar i en verklig miljö. De brister som prototypen har är identifierade och om lösningar på dessa hittas bör prototypen kunna användas i en verklig miljö.     Information in a data warehouse is stored in materialized views, which must be kept consistent with respect to changes made in the sources. This problem has been extensively studied in the relational model. The process is referred to as view maintenance.

    XML is emerging as the de facto standard for data representation and data exchange of semistructured data. Most discussions involving XML assume the XML data is stored in plain text files. However, there are a number of different approaches for storing XML data, which can be categorized according to the underlying system used.

    Views and materialized views can also be specified in XML. This dissertation investigates how view maintenance in an XML context is influenced by the utilized approach for storage. We survey existing storage strategies using a relational database as the underlying system for storage, and storage strategies using plain text files. Further, we survey approaches for maintenance in the context of XML. We investigate three selected storage strategies in detail. We conclude with some insights gained during the investigation.

    Slumpmässighet är ett välutforskat akademiskt ämne genom sannolikhetslära, statistik och till vis del även datavetenskap. Slumpen används också mycket inom spel och spelande för att introducera element av osäkerhet. Trots detta är den intuitiva förståelsen av slump hos människor missvisande och leder till felaktiga slutsatser som gambler’s och hot-hand fallasierna. Vilka fallasier en individ uppvisar beror mycket på de omständigheter som osäkerheten presenteras i. Dock är mycket av forskningen på området fokuserad kring ren informationspresentation, inte den mer komplexa kontextualisering som existerar i spel där mycket av informationen är sammanhängde.Detta arbete undersökte hur slump tolkas av spelvana individer i en enklare spelkontext där testdeltagare dels gjorde ett urval mellan slumpmässiga element som påverkade dem direkt, och dels fick det göra en bedömning av fiendes svårighet. Resultatet visade på en blandning av gambler’s och hot-hand fallasierna. Dock behövs mer data för att kunna dra några generaliserande slutsatser. Utöver att samla in mer information inom arbetets ämnesområde visade även undersökningen på andra forskningsområden som är av intresse: att undersöka slumps representations inverkan på tolkning, att undersöka hur fördröjning mellan exponering och urval gör skillnad på uppfattningen av slump, samt att undersöka möjligheter att kvantifiera kontexter.

    För att flytta information från en databas till ett datalager används det idag olika tekniker. Existerande transformeringstekniker baseras på att en applikation hanterar detta. Detta examensarbete går ut på att skapa och undersöka en metod som istället genomför transformeringen i en databas. Denna transformering är metadatadriven, eftersom metadata är den information om data som krävs för att en transformering ska vara möjlig. Arbetet bygger därför på en metadatastudie som behandlar representation och struktur av metadata. Målet med arbetet är att få fram en så generell transformeringsmetod som möjligt och metoden går ut på att transformera data från en normaliserad databasstruktur till en denormaliserad datalagersstruktur.

    Abstract [en]

    In healthcare, patient information is a critical factor. The right information at the right time is a necessity in order to provide the best possible care for a patient. Patient information must also be protected from unauthorized access in order to protect patient privacy. It is furthermore common for patients to visit more than one healthcare provider, which implies a need for cross border healthcare and continuity in the patient process.

    This thesis is focused on information security in healthcare when patient information has to be managed and communicated between various healthcare actors and organizations. The work takes a practical approach with a set of investigations from different perspectives and with different professionals involved. Problems and needs have been identified, and a set of guidelines and recommendations has been suggested and developed in order to improve patient safety as well as patient privacy.

    The results show that a comprehensive view of the entire area concerning patient information management between different healthcare actors is missing. Healthcare, as well as patient processes, have to be analyzed in order to gather knowledge needed for secure patient information management.

    Furthermore, the results clearly show that there are deficiencies both at the technical and the administrative level of security in all investigated healthcare organizations.

    The main contribution areas are: an increased understanding of information security by elaborating on the administrative part of information security, the identification of information security problems and needs in cross border healthcare, and a set of guidelines and recommendations in order to advance information security measures in healthcare.

    Healthcare is very information-intensive. Hence, it has become necessary to use the support of computers in order to efficiently improve such an information-intensive organisation.

    This thesis points out deficiencies in the area of information security in home healthcare regarding personal integrity and secrecy. Home healthcare is, in Sweden, performed by the municipalities. The work is based on the recommendations and common advice for processing of personal data compiled by the Data Inspection Board. Two municipalities in the Västra Götaland Region have been investigated. One of the municipalities has a manual system and the other has a computerized system for personal data management.

    The work includes a field study where persons from both municipalities have been observed. It also includes interviews based on the comprehensive questions from the Data Inspection Board and questions arisen from the observations.

    The work shows that a very clear need of training among personnel involved in home healthcare. It also shows the need for elaborate security measures including levels on access profiles. A weak point concerning security is also the heavy use of facsimile transmission for information distribution.

    Healthcare institutions, like other organizations and governments, have progressed from manual to computerized information management during the past decades. However, Swedish healthcare is characterized by a slowness in implementing digitalization, especially electronic healthcare record (EHR). The implementation of IT in healthcare has been tardy for a number of reasons. The security problem, especially with regard to the management of patient information, is one such cause. This paper includes an experience report concerning the security level of different healthcare providers in the Swedish healthcare sector. A number of investigations have been conducted in the Western region of Sweden: The results demonstrate security variances in information security as well as common deficiencies both at the technical and administrative levels. The authentication technique and the users’ lack of security awareness and education are the main weaknesses.

    På uppdrag av Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) har en studie genomförts med syftet att komplettera resultatet från en tidigare genomförd förstudie (Åhlfeldt m.fl., 2014) med en analys av kompetensförsörjning och kompetensbehov på informations­säkerhetsområdet från ett samhällsperspektiv. Arbetet har genomförts av forskare från två lärosäten, Högskolan i Skövde och Karlstad Universitet, samt inom tre forskningsdiscipliner: pedagogik, informationssäkerhet och företagsekonomi.

    Uppdraget har varit att besvara följande frågeställningar:

    • Vilka är kompetensbehoven för att ha en god och balanserad informationssäkerhet som bidrar till samhällets informationssäkerhet?
      • Samtida kompetensbehov (nuläget)
      • Framtida kompetensbehov
      • Hur ska nödvändig kompetens erhållas och på vem ligger ansvaret?
      • Utifrån ovanstående frågeställningar, vilka är de viktigaste framgångsfaktorerna?

    Arbetet har genomförts i form av fokusgrupper med representanter från myndigheter och företag som har en nära verksamhetskoppling till samhällets informationssäkerhet och som är viktiga för att samhällets informationssäkerhet ska fungera.

    Resultatet visar att det finns stora brister avseende informationssäkerhetskompetens på alla nivåer i samhället. Tre tydliga områden pekas ut 1) nationellt - ökat behov av starkare styrning och ledning samt kravställning 2) organisation - ökat behov av kompetens från ledning till medarbetare men med starkt fokus på kompetenshöjande åtgärder på ledningsnivå samt vid upphandling och 3) medborgarperspektivet där framförallt skolområdet lyfts fram som ett viktigt insatsområde för kompetenshöjande åtgärder.

    För att uppnå nödvändig kompetens krävs utbildningsinsatser på alla ovan angivna områden. Dels utbildningar på akademisk nivå för informationssäkerhetsexperter men även övriga utbildningar inom t ex juridik och ekonomi. Även yrkesverksamma på organisationsnivå behöver riktade kompetenshöjande åtgärder som sätter informationssäkerhet i fokus utifrån organisationens verksamhetsbehov, allt ifrån ledningsnivå till medarbetarnivå.

    Resultatet visar även att ansvaret för samhällets kompetensförsörjning för informationssäkerhet ligger även den på alla ovan nämnda tre områden men med tydlig betoning på nationell nivå. Här betonas behovet av nationella krav för att medvetandegöra och lyfta informations­säkerheten i samhällsviktig verksamhet för att nå så många medborgare som möjligt.  

    Förslag på framtida arbete avseende utveckling av metoder för framtida studier av kompetensförsörjningen pekar främst på metoder för att angripa bristen på helhetssyn samt kompetensförsörjning för management och medborgare.

     Healthcare manages a large amount of information. which represented in different forms is a necessity for the healthcare work. Furthermore, security is air obvious requirement for almost everything one does in healthcare. Information are available quicker and easier by means of modern information technology (IT) but IT also entails new demands on information security awareness. It is obvious, from different sources and earlier work in this area, that user behavior is one of the most important reasons for present shortcomings in information security. This paper reports on experiences from a case study at a hospital in southwestern Sweden. The aim with the work was to determine how users, using electronic medical records (EMR), are affected by the requirements of information security, how they affect the information security, and how they obey the recommendations and common advice for processing of personal data compiled by the Swedish Data Inspection Board. The result from this work shows that users are indeed affected by, and affect the requirements of information security. This is due to, above all, insufficient knowledge about information security, but also because security policies and routines in the organization (ire inadequate. Consequently, users are still a critical factor when information security measures are applied in healthcare.

    På uppdrag av Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) har en förstudie genomförts med syftet att sammanställa forskningsresultat om kompetenshöjande åtgärder inom informationssäkerhetsområdet för att kartlägga utbildningsbehov och identifierade nyttoeffekter. Arbetet har genomförts av forskare från tre olika lärosäten, Högskolan Skövde, Karlstad Universitet och Stockholms Universitet, samt inom tre forskningsdiscipliner nämligen pedagogik, informationssäkerhet och företagsekonomi.

    Förstudien har haft i uppdrag att besvara följande frågeställningar:

    • Hur definieras kompetens?

    • Hur mäter man kompetens?

    • Hur skiljer sig olika typer av utbildningsinsatser avseende nyttoeffekter? Vilka erfarenheter,

      utvärderingar förklaringsfaktorer kan identifieras?

    • Hur och i vilken utsträckning tillgodogörs olika typer av utbildningar?

    • Vad kännetecknar framgångsrika utbildningsinsatser?

      Resultatet visar att kompetensbegreppet är svårdefinierat och det finns ingen tydlig definition av begreppet. Ett försök till en sammanfattande beskrivning av kompetensbegreppet utifrån granskningen är att kompetens innebär en viss uppsättning kunskaper, färdigheter, etik och attityder i en viss kontext. Kompetens innefattar både egenskaper och intentioner där egenskap inkluderar kunskap och färdighet, och intentioner innefattar etik och attityder. Allt måste dock relatera till en kontext och alltid ses i sitt sammanhang.

      Ytterst få studier har fokus på mätning av kompetens både generellt och inom informationssäkerhetsområdet. De studier som genomfört någon form av mätning mäter främst kompetens utifrån det akademiska fältet och då i första hand utifrån ett kunskapsperspektiv. Forskning av mätning på yrkesverksamma är minimal inom de sökområden som granskats i denna förstudie.

      Avseende kompetensbehov, nyttoeffekter, erfarenheter och framgångsfaktorer visar granskningen att framgångsfaktorer generellt är när utbildningsinsatserna för yrkesverksamma har ett praktiknära fokus. Motivationen och engagemanget hos de som går en utbildning är av avgörande betydelse. Det går inte direkt att avgöra vilka utbildningstyper eller aktiviteter som är av störst betydelse utan granskningen visar att en kombination av olika utbildningsformer och aktiviteter är att föredra. Vidare är dialog och diskussion i den dagliga verksamheten av stor betydelse för att bygga upp en hållbar säkerhetskultur i organisationen. Den s k tysta kunskapen ska inte underskattas utan behöver tas i beaktande och stödjas.

      Ytterligare är ledningens engagemang, delaktighet och stöd för utbildningens genomförande av avgörande betydelse om en utbildning ska uppnå en tydlig effekt i verksamheten.

      Granskningen visar att det finns behov av ytterligare forskning avseende kompetensbehov och på vilket sätt olika utbildningsinsatser ger effekt i organisationer. Förslag på ett diskussionsunderlag för framtida arbete har tagits fram. Förslagen innefattar bl a behov av kompetensanalyser, metoder och verktyg för att mäta utbildningseffekter, riktade kompetenshöjande insatser för managementnivån, longitudinella studier för uppföljning av effekter samt utveckling av metoder och verktyg för ett situerat lärande.

    Granskningen har genomförts inom olika disciplinområden vilket har uppfattats mycket positivt av de deltagande forskarna. Eftersom informationssäkerhet är ett interdisciplinärt område krävs också att bredare perspektiv och ytterligare discipliner bör ingå i framtida fördjupade analyser i området. Exempel på tillkommande discipliner är beteendevetenskap, psykologi och juridik. Behovet av kompetens inom informationssäkerhetsområdet lär inte minska i framtiden och ytterligare forskning behövs för att rätt utbildning ska nå rätt person vid rätt tidpunkt och på rätt plats.

    When patients get access to their personal health information new security demands arise. This paper presents results from a study aiming to improve the understanding of how the patients’ different perceptions of their own personal health and health information preferences can be linked to anticipated positive and negative security concerns. The analysis and discussion focuses on investigating how the security issues and patients’ perception on the benefits and threats of accessing their medical records relate to each other. The results show that a more holistic systemic perspective to information security is needed to support the effective use of medical records in the healthcare in information and data driven society in order to improve both patient safety and patient privacy.

    Municipalities manage a significant part of society's services, and hence they also handle a vast amount of information. A municipality's activities include managing a significant part of society's services, and municipalities’ supply and management of information are, therefore, critical for society in general, and also for achieving the municipalities’ own operational goals. However, research shows weaknesses in the municipalities' work on information security, and there is a need to study and identify the current level of security.

    This paper presents the result from a GAP analysis mapping the current situation of Swedish municipalities' for systematic information security work, based on the demands made on municipalities from both research and social perspectives. The result shows that the information security level regarding the systematic security work is generally low, and that there is a need to implement adapted tools for Information Security Management Systems in order to support municipalities.

The result shows that the information security level regarding systematic security work is generally low and that there is a need for adapted tools for Information Security Management Systems in order to support municipalities.

    En studie har genomförts av Högskolan i Skövde på uppdrag av Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) med syfte att kartlägga länsstyrelsernas faktiska möjligheter att samordna och stödja kommunernas arbete avseende informationssäkerhet. Arbetet har även inkluderat hur länsstyrelserna arbetar med att samordna och stödja kommunernas arbete avseende informationssäkerhet. Kartläggningen genomfördes hos sju utvalda länsstyrelser under perioden oktober 2016 till januari 2017 genom intervjuer av representanter från varje länsstyrelse.

    Resultatet visar att länsstyrelserna behöver ett tydligt uppdrag med tillhörande mandat och resurser för att ha förutsättningar att kunna samordna och stödja kommunerna i deras informationssäkerhetsarbete. Detta anser de involverade länsstyrelserna saknas i nuläget. Dessutom visar resultatet på att det finns omfattande kompetensbrist inom informationssäkerhetsområdet. Kompetensbristen finns såväl i det interna arbetet som i det externa arbetet ut mot kommunerna, allt från ledningsnivå till operativ nivå. Det finns även behov av tydligare roller både strategiskt och operativt för att sätta igång arbetet och möjliggöra en tydligare överblick. Detta behövs för att ge förutsättningar till länsstyrelserna för att kunna samordna och stödja länsstyrelserna i informationssäkerhetsarbetet relaterat till kris och höjd beredskap men även för att erhålla en strategisk helhetssyn på informationssäkerhetsarbetet utifrån ett samhällsperspektiv.

    This paper presents and illustrates the main features of a proposed process oriented approach for patient information distribution in future healthcare information systems by using a prototype of a process support system. The development of the prototype was based on Visuera method which includes five various steps. The results indicate that a visualised prototype is a suitable tool for illustrating both the opportunities and constraints of future ideas and solutions in eHealth. The main challenges for developing and implementing a fully functional process support system are both on a technical and organisational/management level.

    In the context of information systems and information technology, information security is a concept that is becoming widely used. The European Network of Excellence INTEROP classifies information security as a nonfunctional aspect of interoperability and as such it is an integral part of the design process for interoperable systems. In the last decade, academics and practitioners have shown their interest in information security, for example by developing security models for evaluating products and setting up security specifications in order to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, availability and accountability of data. Earlier research has shown that measures to achieve information security in the administrative or organisational level are missing or inadequate. Therefore, there is a need to improve information security models by including vital elements of information security. In this paper, we introduce a holistic view of information security based on a Swedish model combined with a literature survey. Furthermore we suggest extending this model using concepts based on semiotic theory and adopting the view of an information system as constituted of the technical, formal and informal (TFI) parts. The aim is to increase the understanding of the information security domain in order to develop a well-founded theoretical framework, which can be used both in the analysis and the design phase of interoperable systems. Finally, we describe and apply the Information Security (InfoSec) model to the results of three different case studies in the healthcare domain. Limits of the model will be highlighted and an extension will be proposed.

    Accessibility to the right patient information at the right time is a necessity in order to provide the best possible care for a patient. This is a complex undertaking, in particular since healthcare more and more is characterized by diversity, distributed care givers, and extended use of IT. Patient information is sensitive, and must be handled correctly and safely in this setting. This paper takes a national perspective and investigates problems and needs concerning information security in a highly distributed healthcare domain. A small field study of five interviews was conducted to collect data. Results show that problems exist primarily in administrative security, but also that the balance between patient privacy and patient safety is difficult to maintain. Needed security measures are pointed out, and the need for a holistic view is highlighted.

    In healthcare, the right information at the right time is a necessity in order to provide the best possible care for a patient. Patient information must also be protected from unauthorized access in order to protect patient privacy. It is also common for patients to visit more than one healthcare provider, which implies the need for crossborder healthcare and a focus on the patient process. Countries work differently with these issues. This paper is focused on three Scandinavian countries, Norway, Sweden and Finland, and their information security problems and needs in healthcare. Data was collected via case studies, and the results were compared to show both similarities and differences between these countries. Similarities include the too wide availability of patient information, an obvious need for risk analysis, and a tendency to focus more on patient safety than on patient privacy. Patients being involved in their own care, and the approach of exchanging patient information are examples of differences.

    The patient is the most important actor in healthcare and it is an obligation for healthcare to operate so that it fulfils the requirements of good care, i.e. provide patients with both patient safety and patient privacy. Furthermore, patients visit more than one healthcare provider, which implies the need for cross-border healthcare and a focus on the patient process. In order to manage sensitive patient information, IT solutions are required and the need of information security in healthcare is obvious. This paper presents the results from a case study in Swedish healthcare aiming to identify problems and needs concerning patient safety and patient privacy from a patient view. We also present how patient safety and patient privacy relate to the information security area, and emphasize the patient's view on these issues when the transfer of patient information between different healthcare providers becomes more common in the future. The results show that patients focus more on patient safety than on patient privacy, and that their role in their own process must be highlighted.

    Information är ett viktigt arbetsverktyg för alla typer av verksamheter, inklusive kommunalverksamhet. Kommuner hanterar en betydande del av samhällets tjänster varför kommunensinformationsförsörjning blir en kritisk del för samhällets informationssäkerhet. En säkerinformationshantering är en verksamhetsfråga och omfattar därför hela kommunens verksamhet.Utredningar visar dock på brister hos kommunernas arbete med informationssäkerhet och det finnsett behov av att se över detta arbete och identifiera nuvarande säkerhetsnivå.Högskolan i Skövde och forskargruppen i Informationssystem fick i uppdrag av VästKom ochSkaraborgs femton kommuner att dels utveckla metoden för genomförande av en Gap-analys medutgångspunkt från det nationella metodstödet som finns på informationssäkerhet.se, dels praktisktgenomföra en Gap-analys utifrån metodutvecklingen i Skaraborgs femton kommuner. I arbetet medmetodutvecklingen ingick aktiviteterna att 1) uppdatera checklistan i Gap-analysen till ny version, 2)kommunanpassa vilka åtgärder som anses kritiska för en kommun samt anpassa de roller som ingår ianalysen till kommunal kontext, 3) utveckla ett förenklat IT-verktyg som stöd för analysarbetet.Projektet varade mellan april 2015 och januari 2016. Metodutvecklingen samt planering förkartläggningen hos kommunerna genomfördes under våren och själva kartläggningen genomfördesunder första delen av hösten. Analysarbetet och sammanställning av resultat har sedan pågått underresterande del av 2015 och presenterats och slutrapporterats under januari månad 2016.Resultatet av metodutvecklingen har genererat dels en uppdaterat checklista för genomförande aven Gap-analys där kritiska åtgärder för kommunerna har identifierats. Dessutom har enrollförteckning anpassad för kommunal kontext upprättats. Ett förenklat IT-verktyg har ocksåutformats mest i syfte att visa på vilka krav på design och övriga förbättringar som behövs för att fåett effektivt och användbart IT-stöd vid genomförande av en Gap-analys.Resultatet av kartläggningen i Skaraborgs femton kommuner visar generellt på att kommunerna harbrister vad gäller det systematiska informationssäkerhetsarbetet. Främst handlar bristerna om attfundamentet för ett systematiskt informationssäkerhetsarbete saknas i de flesta kommunerna, d v s.styrdokument, organisation och ansvar kring informationssäkerhetsarbetet brister. Dessutom visarkartläggningen på stort behov av ökad kompetens inom informationssäkerhetsområdet.Fortsatt arbete i form av samverkan mellan kommunerna i Västra Götaland ses som enframgångsfaktor. Det är unikt att ha gjort denna form av gemensamt arbete och därför finnspotential för att fortsätta arbetet med att införa ett systematiskt informationssäkerhetsarbete ikommunerna och då främst genom att samarbeta kring aktiviteter i ett införande av ettledningssystem för informationssäkerhet

    Uppsatsen undersöker det grafiska och estetiska uttrycket från klassiska spel ur genren shoot’em up, och hur man som grafiker, art director eller speldesigner kan överföra delar av detta uttryck till ett modernt spel skapat med andra förutsättningar. Uppsatsen ligger till grund för ett grafiskt verk kallat Hands of Deliverance, som består av spelgrafik som i sin helhet kan illustrera hur ett sådant modernt spel kan se ut.
