    Abstract [en]

The aim of this work is to gain a deeper understanding of how staffs trained in behavior science apply play in their work and the impact this may have on children in crisis and grief. The essay examines how staff in their professional work with children in crisis and grief uses play as a tool to help the child. The essay also studies whether staff believes that play contributes to the child's understanding of the event and if the staff believes that play affects the child's self-image and self-esteem. The work applies a qualitative approach and adopts a hermeneutical approach to explain and understand the subject. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The results of the survey show that play is used to facilitate communication, to transmit and receive information, create understanding and clarity. Playing is seen as the most important tool in the processing, healing and confirmation in the work of children.
