Development of an indoor dog gate : environmental product development (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This is a bachelor thesis in integrated product development, which was performed at the University of Skövde. The report considers the development of an indoor dog gate. The purpose of the project was to develop an aesthetic appealing product that suits the customers’ needs.

The project was performed in four phases; planning and task clarification, conceptual design, embodiment design and detail design. In all of the phases different environmental aspects have been considered, so that the final product solution will affect the environment at the minimum. This was done by performing life cycle assessments in different phases of the project and by following a checklist for sustainable development. The result of the project is a gate, which mainly is made of perforated aluminum. The gate´s width is flexible to suit most of the standard doorframes.
