Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Vårdpersonalen på en akutmottagning vårdar ett stort antal patienter under en kort och ofta intensiv period. Arbetet på akutmottagningen ställer höga krav på vårdpersonalen, vilket kan leda till att kraven blir allt för höga i vissa situationer. Vårdandet av patienter kan därför bli lidande vilket resulterar i att patienter utsätt för vårdlidande. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att undersöka patienters erfarenheter av att ha vårdats på en akutmottagning. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på elva vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades. Resultat: Studiens resultat mynnade ut i fyra teman som beskrev patienters erfarenheter av att ha vårdats på en akutmottagning. Dessa bestod av Vårdgivarens arbetsätt i vårdandet har betydelse, Att upprätthålla en god kommunikation med patienterna, Vårdmiljöns betydelse och Väntetiden påverkar välbefinnandet. Slutsats: Genom ökad kunskap om patienters uppfattningar om vården på akutmottagningen kan förståelsen för patienter och deras behov öka och därmed kan vårdandet på en akutmottagning förbättras.

Abstract [en]

Background: Health professionals who work at an emergency department cares for a large number of patients over a short and often hectic period. The high demands that are put on the nursing staff can in some situations be overwhelming. The care of patients may suffer, as results patients are exposed to health care suffer. Aim: To investigate patients' experiences of having been treated at an emergency department. Method: A literature review based on eleven scientific articles was analyzed. Result: Results from the study resulted in four themes that described patient’s experience of having been treated at an emergency department. These consisted of The care provider´s way of caring are important, To maintain a good communication with the patient´s, Care environment has significant impact and The waiting time affect the wellbeingConclusion: Thru increased knowledge of patient’s perceptions of caring at an emergency department, the understanding of patients and their needs can increase and thus the caring at an emergency department can be improved.
