Abstract [en]

This report has been commissioned by Volvo GTO Skövde is to investigate why the current system of safety hatches does not work and develop a proposal for action to Volvo GTO Skövde. The theory used in the thesis follows the product development process. The theory of modularization is presented in a chapter to give the reader a better understanding of the philosophy behind module design. The methods used in the study were observations, interviews, and market research. A concept was chosen to be the most suitable to develop further in the study. A virtual 3D model was created in Autodesk Inventor CAD. The final construction model was given the parts and details. The construction is a new solution, which fulfill the need for Volvo GTO in Skövde.
