Modellering och simulering av en rotationspressningsprocess (Swedish)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The report is about a literature study conducted to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of the Rotary Swaging process. The report also discusses some applications of Rotary Swaging, with a focus on the processing of motor shafts for electric vehicles.

A CAD modeling and FEM simulation have also been performed to investigate the behavior of the hammer and the workpiece during processing. The purpose of this is to analyze the stresses and deformations that the workpiece is subjected to. This, in turn, was done to reduce risk zones if they arise on the processed surface.

The results from the simulation have confirmed the expected outcome of the Rotary Swaging process as described in the literature study. The simulation visualizes the stress and deformation between the hammer and the workpiece, demonstrating that the workpiece undergoes plastic deformation without experiencing fracture or damage from the hammer strikes. Additionally, the simulation shows that this processing method is both suitable and beneficial for the chosen type of components.
