Högskolan i Skövde

Bakgrund: Övervikt och fetma är ett växande problem världen över och hotar den globala folkhälsan. Övervikt och fetma innebär en rad olika hälsorisker både på kort och lång sikt. Skolsköterskan har möjlighet att tidigt uppmärksamma barn med övervikt och fetma och har därmed en viktig roll i det förebyggande arbetet. Samarbete med föräldrarna och stöttning till egenvård utgör en central roll i skolsköterskans arbete.

Syfte: Syftet var att undersöka skolsköterskors erfarenhet av att arbeta med övervikt och fetma hos barn.

Metod: För att besvara studiens syfte gjordes en systematisk litteraturöversikt med induktiv ansats. Sökningarna gjordes i databaserna PubMed och Cinahl. Efter kvalitetsgranskning analyserades tio kvalitativa artiklar till resultatet genom Fribergs femstegsmodell.

Resultat: Resultatet presenteras i fyra huvudkategorier och åtta underkategorier. Huvudkategorierna innefattar: “Ett ämne som kräver varsamhet”, “Samarbete med föräldrar”, “Svårigheter i den professionella yrkesrollen” och “Risk och framgångsfaktorer”.

Konklusion: Arbetet visar att skolsköterskan har en central och viktig roll i att stödja barn med övervikt och fetma. I arbetet med övervikt och fetma hos barn framkom svårigheter och hinder för skolsköterskan, men även faktorer som kan förbättra det hälsofrämjande arbetet inom ämnet.

Background: Overweight and obesity is an increasing problem worldwide and a threaten to global public health. Overweight and obesity involves a number of different health risks both in short and long term. The school nurse has the opportunity to discover children with overweight and obesity at an early stage and has an important role in the preventive work. A central role in school nurse's work is cooperation with parents and self-care support

Aim: The school nurse's experience of working with overweight and obesity in children.

Method: To answer the purpose of the study a systematic literature review was made with an inductive approach. The searches were made in the databases PubMed and Cinahl. After the quality review, ten qualitative articles were analyzed through Friberg's five-step model.

Findings: The results are presented in four main categories and eight subcategories. The main categories include: “A subject that requires caution”, “Cooperation with parents”, “Difficulties in the professional role” and “Risk and success factors”.

Conclusion: The study shows that the school nurse has an important role in supporting children with overweight and obesity. Difficulties and obstacles appeared for the school nurse but also factors that can improve the health promotion work within the subject.
