Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: SARS-CoV-2 viruset påvisades i staden Wuhan år 2019. Därefter spred det sig ivärlden och orsakade en pandemi där människor smittades av sjukdomen Covid-19. För vårdenhar detta inneburit stor påfrestning. Vårdpersonal har fått arbeta under särskilda rutiner ifördaskyddsutrustning. Tidigare forskning påvisar att vårdpersonal som arbetar under besvärandeförhållanden kan uppleva ohälsa, vilket kan ha negativ inverkan på den personcentreradevården. Syfte: Att beskriva anestesi- och operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårdapatienter med misstänkt eller konstaterad Covid-19 infektion under operativa ingrepp. Metod:Kvalitativ metod med en induktiv ansats nyttjades. Datamaterial insamlades genom enkäter ochintervjuer. Tre enkäter inkom, sju intervjuer genomfördes. Datamaterialet analyserades medhjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Ur analysen framkom fem teman; Förberedelseinför det oväntade, En utmanande arbetsmiljö, Låt oss skapa en relation, Vi löser det härtillsammans, eller? och Att växa i rollen. I dessa framkommer sedan tolv underteman.Konklusion: Vid vård av patienter med misstänkt eller konstaterad Covid-19 infektion underoperativa ingrepp är det viktigt med god planering och en god kunskapsgrund hosvårdpersonalen. Det krävs ett välfungerande teamarbete med bra kommunikation och ett tydligtledarskap. Skyddsutrustning är en trygghet för vårdpersonal men komplicerar såvälarbetsmiljön, teamarbetet och mötet med patienter.

Abstract [en]

Background: The Sars-CoV-2 virus was detected in the city of Wuhan in 2019. The virusspread through the world and caused a pandemic in which people became infected with Covid-19 disease. For healthcare this has meant great pressure. Health professionals have been forcedto work under special routines wearing protective equipment. Research shows that healthcareprofessionals who work in difficult conditions can experience negative feelings which can havebad impact on person-centred care. Aim: To describe the anesthesia and surgical nurses’experiences of caring for patients with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 infection duringsurgery. Method: Qualitative method with an inductive approach was used. Data material wascollected through surveys and interviews. Three surveys were answered, seven interviews wereconducted. The data material was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Fromthe analysis appeared five themes; Preparation for the unexpected, A challenging workenvironment, Let’s create a relationship, We solve this together, do we? and To grow with thetask. In these themes, twelve sub-themes occurred. Conclusion: When caring for patient withsuspected or confirmed Covid-19 infection during surgery it’s important with accurate planningand a good ground of knowledge. It’s important with a well-functioning teamwork, goodcommunication and stabile leadership. Protective equipment is a security for the healthcareprofessionals but complicates the work environment, the teamwork and the contact withpatients.
