Development of next generation electric utility vehicle (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In this thesis project the form and functions of next generation electric utility vehicle have been studied. The project is in collaboration with Inzile AB, a company that develops and assembles electric utility vehicles in Västervik. It is in Inzile’s interest to generate a conceptual proposal of the exterior, interior and function of next generation electric utility vehicle. Inzile produces both electric utility vehicles and delivery vehicles and their ambition is to drive change in the utility vehicle sector.

The work has followed a four-step design process with phases such as explore, generate, evaluate and communicate. Different design methods have been applied within the phases based on suitability and a requirements list has been constructed in purpose to account for the requirements of the concerned stakeholders. The concept that is presented has been evaluated with an ergonomic simulation of the driving environment in purpose of dimensioning the cab and body of the vehicle. The ergonomic evaluation has been based on anthropometric measurements and deviations of the concerned user group.

The result of the project is a concept that is developed with both form and function in focus and where information from users and stakeholders was the basis for the decisions that have been made.
