Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Cirka 20 % av Sveriges kvinnor uppger att de någon gång i livet blivit utsatta för våld i nära relationer. Misshandel kan uttrycka sig både fysiskt och psykiskt, vilket skapar ett lidande hos kvinnan vars självbild blir förvriden. Hälso- och sjukvården kan komma i kontakt med dessa kvinnor och kan ha en betydande roll för deras upplevelser av stöd och hjälp. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva kvinnors erfarenheter av att leva i en våldsutsatt relation. Metod: En induktiv ansats valdes där datamaterialet bestående av självbiografier analyseras med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Ur analysen av datamaterialet framkom tre kategorier så som; börjar skönja partners våldsamma egenskaper trots ett kärleksfullt förhållande, känslomässigt kaos och vägen ur våldet och den efterföljande processen med nio underkategorier. Slutsats: Genom kvinnors erfarenheter av att leva i våldsutsatta relationer kan sjuksköterskan få fördjupad kunskap kring ämnet som kan bidra till att skapa tillit och tro för dessa kvinnor i mötet med vården.

Abstract [en]

Background: About 20% of Sweden's women say that they have ever been exposed toviolence in close relationships. Maltreatment and violence can be expressed bothphysically and mentally which creates suffering in their self-image whose can be distorted.Women´s experiences can be helpful and play an important role for healthcare professionalin order to support and help the women. Aim: The purpose was to describe women'sexperiences of living in a violent relationship. Method: An inductive approach was chosenwhere the data consisting of autobiographies were analyzed using qualitative contentanalysis.Findings: The analysis revealed three categories; begins to recognize partners´ violentqualities despite a loving relationship, emotional chaos and the way out of violence andsubsequent process. These three categories created nine subcategories. Conclusion:Through women´s experiences of living in violent relationships, the nurse can gain indepthknowledge of the subject that can help to build trust and faith in these women in thecare of the careers.
