In the work surrounding Service-Oriented Architectures, the concept of Web Services (WS) has received a lot of attention. In e-business, WS hold great promises of positive effects. However, there is still a lack of empirical evidence showing how WS creation works, what problems may arise during this process, and what effects the WS may have on e-business organisations. This paper presents a proof of concept (PoC) focusing on activities, results and encountered problems in the process of creating a WS in an e-business setting. The purpose was to meet the need for empirical descriptions for WS in B2B, to enable the e-business collaboration to function and succeed.
