Abstract [sv]

Alla har i varierad utsträckning egna erfarenheter av skolan, det medför att tankar och synsätt om den skiftar beroende på vem som tillfrågas. Lyhördhet, kommunikation och engagemang är grundläggande förutsättningar för samarbetet mellan hem och skola som i sin tur har stor betydelse för barnets skolgång. Skolan har under lång tid präglats av olika maktförhållanden som bidrog till att pedagogens auktoritet var given. Idag betonas vikten av att skolan och vårdnadshavare gemensamt är ansvariga för elevens skolgång, därmed blir det pedagogens personliga egenskaper som bygger auktoritet. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur föräldrar till barn i årskurs 1-3 resonerar kring samarbetet mellan hemmet och skolan. Studien bygger på föräldraenkäter i tre kommuner i mellersta Sverige. Resultatet visar att föräldrar vill engagera sig i sitt barns skolgång, det är ett samtalsämne som prioriteras. Resultatet synliggör att det finns både likheter och skillnader med utgångspunkt i respondenternas kön, ålder och utbildningsnivå. Sammanställningen synliggör även att skolors sätt att marknadsföra sig lyser igenom i respondenternas språkbruk. Studien lyfter pedagogers svårigheter i att bemöta alla föräldrars synpunkter, samtidigt som deras åsikter måste uppmärksammas. 

Abstract [en]

Everyone has in some extent their own experiences of school; it means that thoughts and attitudes vary depending on who is asked. Awareness, communication and commitment are essential elements for the cooperation between home and school. The school has over time been characterized by different power configurations that contributed to the teachers' authority was granted. Today, school and parents both are responsible for children’s education, therefore it´s pedagogues’ personal characteristics that becomes the authority. The purpose of this study was to investigate how parents of children in grades 1-3 think about the collaboration between home and school. The study is based on parent surveys in three counties in central Sweden. The result shows that parents wants to bee involved in their child's schooling, conversations about school is a priority. The result indicates both similarities and differences based on respondents' gender, age and educational level. The compilation also reveals that schools profiling shines through in respondents' language. The study shows the pedagogues´ difficulties to meet all parents' views, while their opinions must be addressed. Pedagogues’ can´t possibly meet all the parents at the same time, while their views should not be taken for granted.
