Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Astma är ett globalt folkhälsoproblem som skapar begränsningar i livet. Astma bronkiale är en kronisk inflammation i luftvägarna som uppkommer periodvis. Vanliga symtom är tät pipande andning samt hosta och ökad slembildning. Upplevelser som oro, rädsla och ångest är vanligt vid astmaattacker. Därav är ett lugnt bemötande samt behandling av stor vikt. Syfte: Att belysa patienters upplevelse av att leva med astma bronkiale. Metod: En kvalitativ litteraturöversikt användes för att sammanställa patienternas upplevelse av att leva med astma. Resultat: I resultatet presenteras fyra teman – En förändrad vardag, Emotionell påverkan, Kontroll med strategier och Interaktion med sjukvården. Samtliga teman tar upp patienternas upplevelser och erfarenhet av livet med astma. Diskussion: Upplevelsen av att leva med astma bronkiale påverkar och begränsar vardagen med en tydlig inverkan på livskvalitén. Med utbildning och kunskap från sjuksköterskan kan patienten lära sig och hantera sjukdomen vilket kan bidra till att leva ett fullständigt liv.

Abstract [en]

Background: Asthma is a global public health problem that limits life. Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways that occurs periodically. Common symptoms are frequent wheezing, coughing and increased mucus formation. Experiences such as worry, fear and anxiety are common in asthma attacks. A calm meeting and treatment are of great importance. Aim: To illustrate patients' experience of living with bronchial asthma. Method: A qualitative literature review was used to compile the patients' experience of living with asthma. Results: The results present four themes - A changed everyday life, Emotional impact, Control with the strategies and Interaction with healthcare. All themes responded to patients' experiences of living with asthma. Discussion: The experience of living with bronchial asthma affects and limits everyday life with a clear impact on the quality of life. With education and knowledge from the nurse, the patient can learn and manage the disease, which can contribute to living a full life.
