IT/IS are very essential from a strategic point of view, as is electronic business (e-business). Strategic e-business can mean competitive advantage, more efficient and well-structured links between partners, and a more coherent set of supporting information and communication technologies (ICT). Current research literature has no common approach on IT from a strategic point of view. There is no uniform theory or common focus, but rather a dispersed collection of issues and perspectives under consideration. This aim of this paper is to identify in what way e-business and strategic management relate and what areas that are still unexplored. The results can be used to spur further research, as well as to enable organizations to prepare for a long-term planning.
